every day, a couple hundred titles are available in the kindle store at sale prices. sometimes the book is discounted for a single day, sometimes for a few days, but usually no more than a month.
prices of amazon kindle books on sale are even reduced by 85-90%. however, the average savings is around 50%. Typically, you can expect a kindle book sale price ranging from $1.99 to $3.99.
In this post, we’ll list all the major deals on amazon kindle books, along with tips and important facts:

When you take a look at the kindle store, before or after buying kindle e-reader or fire tablet, you might get the impression that there are many different kindle deals everywhere. in fact, there are quite a few of them, featured in different combinations all over the amazon website.
The most convenient way to find out what’s currently available at discounted prices is to visit the Kindle Daily Deals page. You’ll see all today’s deals here, but also featured books and links to other deals sections.
There are three things that all kindle e-book offerings have in common. it’s good that you know them. you will be able to immediately evaluate the attractiveness of the offers for you.
- most books are published in the amazon ecosystem: these books either self-published on amazon kdp or were published by one of amazon’s imprints.
- most books are exclusive to amazon – books published in the amazon ecosystem are usually only available on the kindle store and not on any other eboo platform.
In other words, don’t expect new bestsellers like Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman to show up in any of the Kindle Store sale sections.
what you can assume is that if the book comes from a major publisher like harpercollins or simon & schuster (or its divisions) and costs more than $10, there is a small chance that the price will drop to $2.99 or less.
There’s another reason why best-selling books are rarely chosen for Kindle deals. It’s the psychology of the deal. By offering a product at a discounted price, the seller wants the customer to visit the store and buy other products. If the best-selling bestseller is available at a bargain price, you will leave the store with only this title purchased.
so are amazon kindle books on sale any good?
if you read books from time to time, don’t expect kindle deals to become the most important way to grow your kindle book collection. You should only choose the books that really interest you. don’t let the price dictate what to read.
Things look different if you read a lot of books. For someone who buys several books a month, one or two best sellers just aren’t enough. therefore, you are willing to discover new titles written by new authors. however, there is a risk that you will not like them. Buying a book for $1.99 is a new way to explore the author’s works.

amazon kindle books for sale – a complete guide
kindle daily deals
The first Kindle Daily Deal was offered on August 24, 2011. Since that time, this single deal has become the most popular section of the Kindle Store.
In the first year, a book was offered every day, usually from a popular category, such as mystery, romance, or literary fiction.
since August 2012, at least four books are presented every day. prices typically range from $0.99 to $2.99. they are sometimes grouped by category (children’s, fantasy, romance, crime, etc.). Today, the Kindle Daily Deal features a mix of various deals from across the Amazon website.
Typical savings range from 40% to 85%. As I wrote earlier, most Kindle Store offerings include books published within the Amazon ecosystem. most of these books are priced under $10, usually between $3.99 and $6.99. therefore, the average savings is closer to 40% than 80%.
I often visit the Kindle Daily Deals home page and I have to admit, it’s not my favorite deals section of the Kindle Store. So far, I’ve checked the offer dozens of times, but I’ve only bought a few books.
what you need to keep in mind is that kdd does not aim to let customers buy attractive books at attractive prices, but to attract customers to the store so that they also buy other kindle books or products from other categories.
international availability
books featured on amazon.com kindle daily deal can be purchased by all customers, those who live in the us. uu. and abroad.
however, there are two geographic restrictions for international customers:
- Books may not be available for sale in certain countries. you might see the book in the kdd section, but you won’t be able to buy it. the message on the product detail page says “currently out of stock”. .”
- books may be available but not at sale prices: registered international customers can see the sale price in kdd, but when they go to the details page, the price displayed will be the normal price.
kindle daily deals are not specific to the us kindle store. uu. If you shop at amazon stores located in different countries, you can also find daily deals for kindle e-books.

- visit kindle daily deals homepage – if you bookmark this page in your browser, you can have quick and easy access; if I had to bookmark just one section of deals, it would be kdd; on this page you will find the link to other kindle deals on the amazon website.
- sign up for the daily kindle deals email newsletter. Get an email once a day with all the featured titles and other related deals.
- Follow @amazon on twitter – the hottest daily Kindle deals are shared from this official amazon profile.
monthly kindle deals $3.99 or less
It’s my favorite way to search for Amazon Kindle books on sale.
unlike the daily kindle deals, where you have to check the deal every day, the monthly deal is valid from the first to the last day of each month.

so you only have to visit the amazon online store once a month to find the book worth buying.
The number of featured books ranges from 100 to 3,000, depending on various factors. November is usually the month with the highest number of books for sale.
If more than 500 books are featured in the Kindle Monthly Sale, the section gets its own bestseller list. this is a very useful feature as it helps to find the best of the best in no time.
You will find the link to the best sellers on the home page for kindle monthly deals of $3.99 or less. just scroll down the page to see the “best sellers in monthly deals” section.
What’s also very useful is that monthly deals can be searched using the search box, which is set by default to limit results to this section only (see screenshot below).
The books in Monthly Kindle Deals $3.99 or Less are selected by Amazon editors. In this section, you can find the highest number of Kindle bestsellers.
international availability
monthly deals in the amazon.com store are available to both us and international customers.
However, some geographic restrictions may apply to users purchasing from outside of the United States. The book may not be available for sale or may be priced higher on a detail page than listed in the monthly specials section.
The similar offer category can be found in the UK Amazon store. the section is called monthly kindle deals and the books cost £1.99 each. the new offer is revealed at 12:00 a.m. m. on the first Tuesday of the month and is due at 11:59 p.m. m. on the first Monday of the following month.

If you’re interested in Amazon’s monthly Kindle Book Sale, you’ll have two convenient ways to check out the new deals:
- visit kindle monthly deals $3.99 or less in your browser. I have set a reminder that goes off at the beginning of each month. I pasted a link to the monthly deals into the reminder, so I don’t need to search for the url.
- Sign up for Kindle Monthly Issues: This monthly newsletter will be sent to your email. address and will report on editors’ picks, new releases and monthly specials, among other topics. here is the log page for kindle monthly deliveries.
kindle countdown deals
Kindle Countdown Deals is the largest single directory of the Kindle ebooks that are currently discounted.
The catalog includes hundreds or thousands of books, depending on the time of year. the closer Christmas is, the more books are offered at reduced prices.
all titles are exclusive to amazon. More specifically, they are books sold by authors using Amazon’s desktop publishing platform called Kindle Direct Publishing.
In other words, these offers are not offered by Amazon publishers, but by self-published authors themselves.
why “countdown deals”? it is by the mechanism of a sale. the book detail page included in the countdown deals features a countdown clock showing how much time is left until the price goes up.
Usually, the price goes up gradually. In the beginning, it’s set to $0.99, in the next few days it’s raised to $1.99, then to $2.99, and then to its original level.
The books included in the countdown offers are not as attractive as the monthly offers. can be easily explained. The authors are using the countdown offers to promote the books, collect ratings, reviews, to climb the bestseller rankings of the kindle store. therefore, you will rarely find the highly reviewed books here, but the ratings are usually positive.
in the left sidebar, you will be able to narrow down the results to a specific category. From what I’ve seen, you’ll find books from literally every category in Kindle stores on countdown deals.
in addition, you can also find out here which individual kindle books and kindle short reads have reduced prices.
The kindle countdown deals home page starts with the featured sections (popular authors or genres), but if you scroll down, you’ll get to the full list of titles. from here you can sort titles by price or average review (see screenshot below).
International availability
kindle countdown deals are offered on the amazon.com website. Both we and foreign users are eligible to purchase the books at reduced prices. however, there may be some geographic restrictions set by the authors. In this case, the international user may not find the book in the Kindle countdown deals section or may not be able to purchase it.

There’s no way to subscribe via email, so there’s only one way: check the kindle countdown deals homepage from time to time.
I usually check for countdown deals at the beginning of each month, along with monthly kindle deals of $3.99 or less.
digital offers
The deals listed above are specific to the Kindle store, but you can also find Kindle deals elsewhere on the Amazon website.
As you probably know, every day Amazon Gold Box lists hundreds of deals on products from various categories. one of the categories, digital deals, includes digital items at reduced prices, such as songs, videos, games, and e-books.
Simply go to the digital deals home page and look on the right hand side for the drop down menu under the “featured digital deals” section.
Select “kindle ebooks” from the dropdown menu to see what’s currently available (see screenshot below).
Usually, no more than ten titles are listed. They are different from books included in the daily deals or monthly deals.
when it comes to timing, kindle ebooks included in digital deals are good for a couple of days, just like any other item that appears in amazon’s gold box.

one important thing to mention is that in the same section you can also find the audible audiobook deals. scroll down the page to reveal the section dedicated to audible offers. here you will also find links to the audible audiobooks homepage.

You can check the digital offers in one of the following ways:
- Browse from the amazon gold box home page: in the top navigation bar, look for digital deals on the far right,
- sign up for daily amazon email deals: here’s the registration page: what you need to know is that you won’t be able to select an offer category, like “kindle” or “audiobooks”. You’ll get all the featured Amazon Gold Box deals.
- Follow Amazon Gold Box deals via the RSS feed: This is probably the most popular way to stay up-to-date with everything new on Gold Box. The main benefit of RSS is that unlike an email that is sent once a day, you will receive the new deal in RSS as it happens. here is the rss feed to grab.
turn on first
Kindle First is the least known of the Kindle deals. However, the deal is worth checking. You can access the books exclusive to Kindle Store, and ahead of the others.
every month, amazon editors select a few books. users can choose one of them for $1.99.
the biggest advantage of kindle first is that the selected books are available before the official release dates. each of these books will be released during the current month.
not all amazon customers have access to kindle first. You will need to sign up separately for the first Kindle newsletter. By doing this, you will be eligible to purchase a first Kindle title at a reduced price. the new set of books will be emailed to you at the beginning of each month.
kindle first is more useful for amazon prime members. when you join prime, you won’t pay $1.99 for the selected book. you’ll pick it up for free.
international availability
On amazon.com, kindle first is available only to us, the customers.
Offer is also available to UK customers shopping on amazon.co.uk. kindle first uk lets you buy one book a month for £0.99. uk amazon prime get it for free.

once you sign up for kindle first, you will be able to check out the new offer in one of the following ways:
- Kindle First E-Newsletter: You will be notified of the new Kindle First offer by receiving an email at the beginning of each month.
- On an Amazon Fire Tablet: Tap “Books”, then “Store” / ” more to explore” / “turn on first”.
- ) on a kindle e-reader: tap or select “buy in kindle store” and then “turn on first”.
offers 50 kindle books for $2 each
This section lists books that appear in daily or monthly deals. So, this is not a separate deal, but rather an another way to explore the existing ones.
50 kindle book deals for 2 each includes books from popular categories: mystery & amp; thrillers, romance novels, and literary fiction. Usually the entire book series is presented here, so if you want to collect all the volumes of your favorite sci-fi saga or crime novel series, the price of less than $2 for each title is quite attractive.
From time to time, Amazon includes the section in Kindle Daily Deals or Timed Deals. otherwise it’s pretty hard to find the section in the kindle store, unless you have it bookmarked in your browser.
the deal changes every month, which is also proof that the section is another way to explore monthly kindle deals for $3.99 or less.

On amazon, you can also find deals on kindle books that are temporarily running. they are usually tied to amazon seasonal sales:
- spring cleaning deals,
- prime day deals,
- black friday deals and countdown to black friday,
- deals pre-Christmas, like like 12 days of deals,
- year-end deals.
