anna quindlen is one of America’s best-known authors who has written several best-selling novels in her writing career based on literature & fiction and memoir genres. In addition to being a writer, she is also a popular journalist and opinion columnist. One of the columns she wrote in the New York Times column known as Public and Private won the 1992 Pulitzer Prize for Best Commentary. Anna She began working as a journalist before becoming an author and began her career as a reporter in 1974 at the New York Post. after working there as a reporter for a period of three years, she was promoted. she and between 1977 and 1994 she worked for the new york times and held various positions in the company.
anna left the new york times in 1995 and also left journalism to become a full-time novelist. After struggling for a few years, she joined Newsweek in 1999 and began writing bi-weekly columns. subsequently, she announced her semi-retirement in the year 2009, until that time she wrote a series of columns on various topics for the magazine. Author Anna is well known for being a critic of the increasingly materialistic and fast-paced nature of modern American life, as she perceives it. When she was just 19 years old, she lost her mother to ovarian cancer at the age of 40. Since then, most of author Anna’s personal writings focus on her mother. her writing career has been prosperous due to the 5 best selling novels she has written throughout her writing career. two of those bestselling novels have also been adapted into successful movies.

It was titled as ‘A True Thing’ and the main characters in the form of Ellen Gulden and Kate gulden. In the opening sequence of the novel’s plot, Ellen Gulden is shown living a successful life in New York as one of the featured journalists. her but she leaves everything of her and returns to her mother’s house to take care of her since she is diagnosed with cancer. her mother, kate gulden, expresses her desire to spend the rest of her life with her daughter and so ellen doesn’t think twice about going to her. As the awkward, tender and revealing relationship between mother and daughter seems to deepen, Ella Ellen is confronted with several painful truths about her father, whom she used to adore so much. and after kate’s death, ellen gulden goes from being a devoted daughter to being the main suspect in killing her mother, as she is accused of mercy killing.
