As young readers pause less on individual words, the story tends to draw them in and keep them interested. To encourage this new reading urge (and don’t worry if it’s yet to come), you’ll need books your child wants to stick with, even if reading hurdles still come their way. This book list from the wonderful Facebook group your kids next read has your (and your kids’) thumbs up for turning pages.
the facebook group your kids next read is the place where all the cool kids hang out. the lovely allison tait created this fast growing group and invited me to join as a moderator. is the place to share your thoughts on the books your little ones love, links to relevant children’s book reviews, and of course to ask the group for suggestions and recommendations on books for your child to enjoy next.
You are reading: Books for 8 10 year olds
you can join here.
Please note that these lists are generated by members and are not edited with my teacher librarian hat on. some of the titles may still have “too many hurdles” for some readers, but they’re all great to read together or keep in mind when you’re ready to devour them independently.
