One of my first tips for choosing picture books that kids fall in love with has always been: choose books with captivating illustrations. It’s no surprise that pictures inform your child’s first impression of a book, so choosing books with wonderful illustrations is a perfect place to start, which led me to compile this list of thirty truly beautiful children’s books. strong>.

Illustrations inspire children’s imaginations, and in picture books, the illustrations really contribute as much as the shared story. This collection of books includes illustrations that are truly works of art, representing a variety of media and artistic styles. They’re also a terrific reminder that picture books aren’t just for young children, in fact many of these stories are best suited for children in the early and even middle years of elementary/primary school.
