Out of the blue, Lacey decides to rent a vacant store and start an antique business. moving to england is starting to sound like a good idea. after all, what does she have to lose? everything is going well, albeit with a few glitches here and there, and it seems like the whole town is now focused on lacey. When Lacey’s first client dies, she’s thrown into a world she never imagined where she’s branded a murderer by nearly everyone in town.
Luckily for Lacey, the handsome green-eyed baker from across the street has noticed her and he’s sure the girl of his dreams is incapable of hurting anyone. The police investigate, Lacey gets someone to help her with the store while she recovers from her fright, and there’s a handsome guy who’s willing to offer her everything she’s ever wanted in a man. How will this story end for Lacey? Will the police discover the real killer and remove Lacey from her list? How about the handsome man who makes Lacey feel hot and bothered? Will she let him into her life, considering how she felt when he ended her marriage?
This is a cozy fairy tale mystery story because somehow everything works out just fine for Lacey. even after being framed for murder, the pieces fall together beautifully in the end. lacey is a lovable character. he’s admirable that even after going through a divorce, having to deal with malicious neighbors, and being a suspect in a murder case, he keeps his head up. The seaside town setting adds a lot to the story, and all the people who come to Lacey’s aid, including the dog, will warm your heart. If you’re looking for a light and cozy read that leaves you with a smile on your face, Murder at the Mansion is for you.
Death and a Dog Death and a Dog is the second book in the Lacey Doyle series. Once again, we meet Lacey, her faithful dog, her friends, and her nemesis. Lacey is slowly settling into the seaside town and exploring the neighborhoods. she’s even making new friends, but just when it seems like things couldn’t get any better, another murder occurs. Once again, Lacey is thrown into the middle and decides to work to catch the killer. Her friends join her this time, and everyone has a great time as they work to piece together the details.

Lacey’s character will be further developed in this story, and while she will seem more imperfect than in the first book, this also makes her more human and relatable. it’s also easy to understand her trust issues. First, her father abandoned her. then her husband continued in the abandonment given that she has had to face in the past. Lacey’s ex-husband doesn’t make things any easier. With constant calls about money, a business to run, and a new city to get used to, Lacey is doing better than the average human being. The author also hints at Lacey’s father, the day he left her mother, and her daughter’s desire to hear her side of her story. Lacey has a lot of doubts about her personal life, but Chester is always there to save the day.
The author does a great job with the mystery, and it’s going to be hard to figure out the killer until you’ve read this book to the end. lacey and her friends will play detective, and this will be done behind the back of tom and the police. At some point, Lacey will lure the killer to an island, and while it’s not such a smart move, it will all work out in the end. Chester proves to be the perfect place every girl needs, and Tom’s concern for Lacey and the decisions he makes are a little sweet. how does lacey discover the killer? Will she be able to catch the killer in time before more damage is done?
Death and a Dog is another cozy mystery story with an intriguing cast, an exciting story, and a seamless flow. If you like well-written mystery stories, you’ll love this book. the plot is clever and the many twists and turns will keep you glued to the end. Also, the ending does not disappoint. get to know lacey better and see how she is handling herself in her new home. The romance between Lacey and her love interest continues to grow, and although not much happens in the story, it’s clear that this cute couple will have a more serious relationship in the later books.
