For anyone still following my page, I’m reposting my old book reading stories. I originally stopped writing because I was suffering from severe depression and, coupled with a heavy workload, couldn’t find the time or drive to continue. now I am in a place where I am much better and now I have time to continue.

Unfortunately, I lost a lot of my old posts when my old computer crashed, so I’ll be starting almost from scratch.
I’m curious though, if someone tells me what they think, should I post it like I did before, with the text in bold from the books (which obviously doesn’t belong to me, and I make no claims) or just with my own comments, and let readers know where they are in the text? Feedback on this would be appreciated 🙂
just to be very clear (in case anyone thinks it isn’t) the harry potter series is owned by the wonderful j.k. rowling.
Also, I know Ginny shouldn’t have been born yet, so please don’t tell me this. i reserve the right to play with the timeline for my own amusement (i think chamber of secrets would be better if she was already born).
Professor Dumbledore walked quickly from his office to the room of requirements. it was the middle of summer vacation, so no students were found inside the castle. As he walked through the castle, he noted the air of peace and contentment that he still resided at Hogwarts.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the outside world. the war continued outside these walls, with more deaths, torture and disappearances every day.
Pausing in front of the tapestry of Barnabas the Nutty, he walked in front of the wall three times and a magnificent door appeared. opening the door, he was met with a lot of noise. in the room, there were a number of people. Sitting at a large table were James and Lily Potter, who was holding baby Harry on her lap. Next to Lily sat Alice Longbottom, baby Neville in his arms, and Frank sat next to him. next to james, was sirius black and remus lupin. On Remus’s other side were Emmaline Vance, Sturgis Podmore, and Dorcas Meadowes. Facing James and Sirius were the twins Gideon and Fabian Prewett. On Fabian’s left side were Marlene Mckinnon, Dedalus Diggle, Edgar Bone, Elphias Doge, and Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth. Sitting next to Gideon were Benji Fenwick, Alastor Moody, and Professor McGonagall. At the head of the table sat Albus Dumbledore. in front of him, because there was nowhere else with enough room for hagrid to sit.
“it’s ok, calm down”. he called, and james, sirius, remus, fabian and gideon all turned to him looking sheepish. “Are we ready for the meeting?”
“Looks like,” Moody replied, “but where’s pettigrew?”

“Pete said to apologize, but he had to stay and take care of his mother. Apparently she got sick.” Remus said.
“okay. well, first, I’d like to…” but dumbledore was stopped in his tracks when there was a large flash of purple light and in the center of the table were seven books stacked on top of each other.
Fast as lightning, everyone drew their wands and pointed at the books. On top of the books was a letter, addressed to the Order of the Phoenix. Dumbledore waved his wand over the books and the letter, checking for any dark intent. Finding none, he opened the letter and read aloud:
“dear order of the phoenix.
We have sent you seven books to read and help you in the war effort. before you ask, yes, they are from the future, just like us. we know that altering time is illegal and quite drastic, but we felt we had no choice. the future is not all bad, the war is over, but we lost so many good people, and so many families were torn apart, and it is weighing heavily on everyone, that we feel if we had the information we needed sooner, a lot could have been saved. At the end of the books, you can decide what you want to do, you can remember what you’ve learned and change the future, or you can erase your memories and let the story take its course. it’s up to you.
now sirius, yes i have isolated you for a reason, remember when the time comes, what is important to you and who you really are. and everyone else (sulky), don’t be happy when that time comes too. Remember, all is not what it seems, and we have chosen who is in this room for a reason.
we also want you to get the weasley family. They play an important role in the story. You must also not invite Pettigrew, or inform him in any way. if you do, the books will disappear. there is a good reason for this, as you will see.
we hope you can make a good decision with these books, because the future is (literally) in your hands

dumbledore looked at the surprised faces around him. gideon spoke first “should we go find molly and her family then?” gesticulating towards his brother and towards himself.

“That would be for the best, I think,” replied Dumbledore.
As they left, James asked, “Why aren’t we allowed to tell Pete about this? He’s also a member of the Order. Shouldn’t he have a right to know too?”
“As for that, I’m not sure, James. The “golden trio” wrote that it would become obvious as we read on. Something might happen that he shouldn’t know about, but only time will tell.”

“who is this ‘golden trio’ anyway?” Remus questioned.
“oh, I don’t know. We can assume they’re from the future, but we can find out by reading.”
For half an hour, questions ran through the room, but no one could find any answers. The questioning only stopped when Fabian and Gideon returned with nine other redheads. Molly and Arthur had been told what was going on, so they came in and sat expectantly.
The adults decided that it would be best to let most of the children play while reading these books. Lily conjured up a big playground and placed Harry in it along with Neville, Ron, Fred, George, and Percy.
bill and charlie sat on either side of their parents, with molly holding newborn ginny in her arms.
“shall we start then?” dumbledore asked. when everyone nodded in the affirmative, he asked “does anyone mind if I read first?” no one did, and he started,
“harry potter and the philosopher’s stone”
