In the second book of the trilogy, Catching Fire, we once again follow the story of Katniss Everdeen, now 17 years old, who must deal with the consequences of her act of defiance during the Hunger Games finale. The main characters of the trilogy are:

The first book was published on September 14, 2008 by Scholastic with an initial print run of 50,000 copies which ended up quadrupling and by 2010 it had sold over 800,000 units and been translated into over 26 languages, all of which qualifies as book as a bestseller. shortly after, on September 1, 2009, “on fire” followed and the last installment, “mockingjay”, was released on August 24, 2010.

All three books have received generally positive reviews and have been published not only in hardcover, but also in paperback, eBook and audiobook formats. The success of the first book and its sequels prompted Lionsgate Entertainment to adapt the trilogy for the big screen.
the first film “the hunger games” was produced by color force, the screenplay was adapted by billy ray with collins and directed by gary ross. It received good reviews when it was released on March 23, 2012, especially for the actor who played Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence. The roles of Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne were played by Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, respectively.
The film adaptation of the second book in the trilogy, “Catching Fire”, is expected to be released on November 22, 2013 and no date has yet been set for the adaptation of the third and final novel.
