Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942 in Lima, Peru. Isabel’s parents, Tomás, who was a representative of the Chilean government, and Francisca Llona Barros, divorced when she was only three years old. isabel moved to santiago with her mother after the divorce. in santiago, chile she grew up in the house of her grandparents. her grandmother was interested in divination and astrology. she also told other stories. All of this left a lasting impression on Isabel. her house was full of books that allowed her to read. At age 16, Allende graduated from a private high school. three years after graduating she married her first husband miguel frias who was an engineer. while she was in santiago, allende worked at the food and agriculture organization of the united nations as secretary for many years. She later became an editor, journalist, and advice columnist for Paula magazine. she also worked as a television interviewer and news anchor.

the assassination of her uncle, chilean president salvador allende, in 1973 during the military takeover of the chilean government, isabel’s life changed radically. he initially did not believe that the new government would last. she, however, later discovered that her stay in chile was too dangerous and this made her flee to venezuela together with her husband and her two children. Even though she had stabilized her successful journalistic career in Chile, she found it difficult to get a similar job in Venezuela. Ella Isabel was inspired to write Ella’s first novel, The House of the Spirits in 1982. The novel was a huge success as it became a bestseller in West Germany and Spain. Based on the memories of her family and the political changes in her country, the novel describes the political and personal conflicts of many generations of a family that lived in a Latin American country. It was published in 2002. In both 2003 and 2005, she released Kingdom of the Golden Dragon and Forest of the Pygmies, respectively, for young readers. Along with fiction, she also included her own life in her writings with many memoirs including; paula that premiered in 1995 and my invented country: a nostalgic trip through chile that premiered in 2003.

He didn’t care that Irene’s fiancé, Gustavo Morante, nicknamed “Boyfriend of Death,” was a captain in the army. every time francisco accompanied irene to a magazine job he fell more in love with her. When they are sent to investigate the case of Evangelina Ranquileo, a girl who suffers from spectacular attacks that are said to end in miraculous powers, the couple finds themselves involved in an experience of violence and terror when they discover a horrible crime, a revelation that provokes and defy the regime and put their own lives at risk.
