Starting with keri baxter jacobs, it shows how she is dealing with the problems in her life as a strong-willed person of faith. Seemingly braving the elements when faced with new challenges within her domestic life, she turns to religion to find out what she must do. this is what informs many of the characters’ key decisions, acting as a strong moral compass throughout the novel. dealing with her husband, who provides much of the dramatic tension throughout, she recounts how she deals with the new revelations that come her way. While her action may not be good, they give Keri the help she needs to make some big decisions. Using religion as her primary guiding force, the Christian teachings of Karen Kingsbury and Ella co-author Gary Smalley prevail throughout the book’s narrative. Based on the idea that “love is a decision”, they work to inspire Keri and how she handles the situation.

Finding out her husband has been cheating on her, Keri Baxter Jacobs finds she needs to do some soul searching. this leads her to learn that she wants to stay true to him, as she feels that she loves him and she must stay with him despite what she has done and continues to do. She comes to believe that “love is a choice” and she must follow the teachings of Christ and remain faithful to her marriage. Using her religion, she is guided to stay with him and remain faithful to their marriage and her commitment, despite her misdeeds. while the relationship may seem hopeless, she feels that it is her love that she gains because of her christianity. although this may contain many different ideas for those of no faith, she provides insight into it, which is why many outside of religion have turned to the book.
