This edition was sold as a special offer for 25 cents in January 1942, but only in Canada. this is one of the rarest comics from the golden age, so rare that even incomplete copies have sold for up to $5,400.

the incredible hulk was inspired, at least in part, by the character of ben grimm (the thing) from the fantastic four. there is also a clear inspiration drawn from frankenstein’s monster and dr. jekyll and mr. 5. Fantastic Four #1 (1961) — $300,000
The Fantastic Four began as an attempt to rival the DC Justice League. the success of the fantastic four may ultimately be due to stan lee’s passion and personal affection for comics :
