Do I have to handle customs brokerage myself to ship books to North America or Europe?

no, our overseas book printer will prepare all the paperwork and coordinate the shipment of the book with their export department. In addition, the export department will work together with its representative customs agent in each country.

Book shipments are generally quoted as “ddp” (delivery and duty paid) and are included in our book production quotes.

How long does it take to print books in China?

On average, estimate around 8-10 weeks. Typically, a book can be printed and bound in approximately 4-5 weeks from the time the print files are shipped. this includes generating and reviewing proofs, all the way to printing and binding the finished books.

Depending on where you are, shipping on average is another 4-5 weeks.

how does the payment work? Who do I pay, in what currency?

We take care of paying for printing abroad (in US dollars). A deposit of 50% of the total cost of production will be paid at the time of signing the production contract and starting the work. the remaining balance (including additional costs and supplies charged) will be paid upon customer approval of printed and bound books in advance. Please note that overseas book printers will not ship most books until they are paid for in full.

Payment options include: bank transfer, check or credit card (via paypal, where a 2.9% surcharge will apply).

Isn’t it expensive to send books from abroad?

Relatively speaking, no. book shipments are loaded onto container ships and the cost per square foot is affordable.

It is common practice in the book printing industry to deliver more books (superior) or fewer books (poor) than you have ordered. Depending on the printer, the production excess or defect will be 5 to 10% of the order quantity.
