As I mentioned before, I’ve been making money selling low content and no content books on amazon since 2017, and I think anyone can do this too.
When it comes to making money from low content books, it all comes down to the amount of effort you put in and the type of books you create. On top of that, the quality of the books you create also plays a role.
For example, I have a book that generates almost 40% of my monthly royalties every month. On the other hand, I have a lot of cheap, empty books that don’t sell a single copy!
after publishing many low content books, I have come to an interesting conclusion:
“A low-content book that took me a lot of time and effort to create is the one that sells the most and generates passive income for me.”
This is mainly because low-content books that take more time and effort to create tend to have less competition. and the reason is self explanatory, most people tend to avoid the hard stuff and thus try to create a lot of easy to do books like journals, sketchbooks, recipe books etc.
so if you really want to make money off of low kdp books then I want you to be more than willing to put in the work and make books that most people aren’t willing to create.

creating and selling low content books is basically a three step process that I personally follow whenever I plan to create a low content book to publish on kdp.
This three-step process includes:
step 1: research
This is the first and perhaps the most important step in low content publishing. if you manage to do this well, the other two steps become very easy and fruitful.

- propose low-content book ideas: in this step, you need to come up with low-content book ideas.
- validate the book ideas in amazon: In the next step, validate your book ideas on amazon to confirm that the given book idea has decent demand but little competition.
finding and validating potential low content book ideas is also known as kdp niche research. i have several videos about kdp niche research, below is one of them.
- Relevant keyword search: In this step, you need to find as many relevant keywords as you can. this is also known as kdp keyword research and there are many ways to do keyword research for low content books.

step 2: kdp interior creation
Once you’ve come up with a profitable idea for a low-content, keyword-relevant book, the next step is to create or outsource the interior and cover for that book.
The good news is that you can kdp interiors and cover yourself with canva for free. On the other hand, if you don’t have time to create kdp interiors, you can get interiors from sites like creative fabrica.
As a side note, you must modify interiors taken from any site before publishing them to amazon kdp.

step 3: upload your book to kdp
This is the final and most fun step in kdp’s low content publishing business. In this step, you will be uploading your low-content book to Amazon KDP. To do so, you need to create a compelling title, subtitle, and book description for your low-content book.

If you check the best sellers list on amazon in the books category, you can see a substantial portion of the low content books within the top 100 best sellers.
In general, the best-selling low-content books are gratitude journals, coloring books, activity books, puzzle books, children’s storybooks, prayer journals and the planners. anyone can create these books and earn a decent income online.
At the time of writing this blog post, I can see a lot of low content books on the bestseller list in the books category. some are;

How many pages should a low content book have?
I have published over 1200 books on amazon, both low content and no content over the last 4-5 years and most of them are over 100 pages.
Most low content books are 100 pages long, however it depends on the type of book. as some children’s activity books that fall under the umbrella of low content books are around 30-40 pages long.
Coloring books are usually 60-100 pages long and come with 30-50 pictures to color on alternate pages.
