American author, Steven Pressfield, born September 1943, is recognized for his fiction and non-fiction literature and historical screenplays. he was born in 1943, in port of spain, trinidad, while his father was stationed there, in the navy, he was transferred there. he moved from duke university in 1965 and in 1966 he merged with the marine force. After a few years, he began working as a marketing and promotional specialist, tutor, tractor-trailer driver, bartender, oilfield employee, supervisor at a mental health facility, one of the native fruit pickers in Washington State and screenwriter.
His hard work to bring home the bacon as a writer, including the period when he was destitute and living out of the back of his car, is detailed in his book The War of Art. Inside it, Pressfield highlights the various types of resistance faced by specialists, business visionaries, competitors, and others trying to overcome their obstacles. the book has a later title “do the work”.

His first book, The Legend of Bagger Vance, was released in 1995 and was made into a movie of the same name, starring Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Matt Damon, and coordinated by Robert Redford.

Before distributing his first one-off works of fiction, Pressfield composed a few Hollywood screenplays, including 1988’s King Kong Lives, Above the Law with Steven Seagal and coordinated by Andrew Davis, 1992’s Freejack, a work of science fiction with emilio estevez, mick jagger and anthony hopkins, and 1993’s joshua tree with dolph lundgren and george segal. Joshua Tree was coordinated by Academy Award and BAFTA Double winner Vic Armstrong.

The Legend of Bagger Vance, the novel written by him, was made into a 2000 film with Matt Damon as the golfing whiz and Will Smith as his otherworldly guide.

thermopylae was the main entrance to greece for the persian armed forces and exhibited the ideal suffocation point: a restricted passage circumscribed by a gigantic mountain divide on one side and a cliff that emptied into the ocean on the other. this territory diminished the Persians’ favorable position of having expansive numbers. postponing Persian development here would give the Greek associates ample time to prepare a larger pivotal power to guard against the Persians. Fighting happens all the time with the ocean fighting at Artemisium, where the allied Greek forces planned to secure the flank of the armed force at Thermopylae without being cut off. the Greeks were unprepared at Artemisium, as at Thermopylae: the Persians dwarfed the Allies, and the vast majority of Athenian ships had been recently manufactured and guarded by inexperienced groups, and both sides suffered overwhelming misfortunes in ocean battle. /p>
The novel is told from the point of view of the illustrious copyist of the Persian ruler Xerxes, while recording the narrative of Xeons, after the fight, or in the main character from the perspective of Xeons. Even though Xeones is basically injured in the fight, the Persian King Xerxes orders his specialists to try and keep the hostage squire alive. Much of the story investigates Spartan culture, especially the Agoge, which is the military training program all young Spartans must complete to become Spartans. The novel also highlights the heroism of a few dozen Spartans, including the Spartan king Leonidas, the Olympic champion Polynices, a young Spartan warrior named Alexandros, and the Spartan officer Dienekes. pressfield uses detailed depictions of the Spartan phalanx in combat and additionally the unrivaled training and drill of the Spartan warriors.
