Vaughn Heppner is a Canadian author of thrillers, science fiction, and fantasy novels. heppner was born in canada and moved to central california before seventh grade. Not knowing what to do with his life, Heppner felt miserable and desperate until the day one of his good friends gave him a typewriter and he immediately started writing a novel. however, he later became convinced that writing would be much easier if he did it on a computer. In response, Heppner bought one and spent up to three hours in the morning writing before going to work.
Heppner has published ten series of novels, including the Lost Civilizations series, which began in 2001 when Giants, the first novel in the series, was published. Other novel series include Ark Chronicles, Doom Star, Alternative Europe, Invasion American, Extinction Wars, Lost Starship, A.I., Invaders, and Fenris. the author has also written more than a dozen independent novels and several collections.

the lost starship
Ten thousand years ago, an alien ship survived a battle and the dying ship manned an artificial intelligence (AI) in automatic defense mode to defend the shattered remains of their planets. Legend has it that the alien ship continues to patrol the lost battlefield, obeying its orders throughout the centuries.
Meanwhile, the earth needs a miracle; Far from beyond comes a new generation of men, stronger, faster and braver than the people of the earth. their advanced technology and superior warship on the battlefield destroy nearly every fleet sent to stop them. Furthermore, his spies have infiltrated the government and traitors now plague the military world.
Then there’s Captain Maddox of Stellar Surveillance Intelligence, a man who wonders if the ancient legend could be true. if true, would such an ancient spaceship be able to defeat the technology of the new men?
While retreating from an attack by assassins, Maddox searches for a group of highly talented misfits. He seeks out Dr. Dana Rich, a professional thief incarcerated on a prison planet, Keith Maker, an alcoholic former wrestler, and Lt. Valerie Noonan, the only person to survive a battle against the New Men.

maddox has to do whatever it takes and find the lost battlefield and take back the ship that no one can enter. if he fails this mission, the new men will have to replace all men on earth, but if he succeeds, humanity might have a chance at success.
the missing command
A century and a half ago, the human race, hoping to establish a refuge, moved to the afterlife. now the new men are attacking; these are stronger than the human race, faster and smarter than the ancients.
The star guard sends in fletcher to stop these attacks. But Admiral Fletcher narrowly escapes a massacre by heading into the hideous void. His ships, almost totally destroyed, are quickly running out of resources such as food, fuel and missiles, so they cannot dare to return and face the army of the new men.
Star Watch searches tirelessly for a way to rescue Admiral Fletcher’s ships. There’s an ancient starship parked in the solar system, one with a cantankerous AI that refuses to cooperate. the ship has powerful weapons capable of defeating the new men, but only if someone could find a way to do the job after ten thousand years.
the stellar watchdog council summons maddox, the only person to have successfully worked with the ancient artificial intelligence computer. The captain must now convince his old friend, the ai, who has now become smarter than before, to help him rescue fletcher and other ships before time runs out.
but what does the ten thousand year old artificial intelligence machine have to gain to help the most arrogant intelligence officer on earth? The answer to this question could be the solution to solve the threat of the new men.

star soldier is the first book in vaughn heppner’s doom star series and the debut in one of the most excellent science fiction series of the 21st century.
doom star books are set in the future here on earth, and most of the other planets in the solar system are ruled by the communist social unit, people who brutally repress their subjects. The main character of the narrative is Martin Kluge, who begins in the first book by escaping from the Sun’s construction factory, a gigantic station that sounds like mercury. he flees to the land where the majority of the population resides in the cities buried miles deep in the ground.
As bad as things are under the leadership of the social unit, they could even get worse, and very quickly, things get worse. the rulers of the social unit had previously produced a genetically enhanced race known as the nobles. this species was created to protect their master and fight battles for them. Unfortunately for the social unit, his “army” rebelled and an interplanetary war began.
The Su were the worst kind of communists, but for the nobles, they took the opposite approach but emulated the Nazis of the 20th century, embracing the German assumption that they were superior to other races. but genetically speaking, the nobles were right, they were stronger, bigger, and smarter than normal human beings.
on earth, we find kluge; a man who hasn’t gotten along since his mercury escape and when the earth is attacked for the first time, his life is spared. he soon finds himself enlisted in a human army fighting alongside the noble side of the war. but neither side is good: on one side is the social unit while on the other is the nobility. but kluge does not like the idea of fighting for the nobles, instead he wishes to find another option and probably on mars, where a group of humans who have rebelled against social unity lives, or maybe on other outer planets where they still live free humans.
star soldier is the story of technological hell in a ruthless war, full of surprises, full of action and full of twists and turns until the last page. is a sci-fi story where it is believed that the fittest will survive a terrible war of extinction.
