- Wrap each book individually in clean tissue paper or bubble wrap.
- Secure all sides with tape, making sure no tape remains on the surface of the book.
- Wrapped books can be packed in a box provided, making sure all spaces are filled with extra bubble wrap or crumpled paper. this cushions the book and prevents damage during transit.
- seal all sides of the box with packing tape.
- ship your package, clearly indicating a return address and name from your contact swann .
note:
- when shipping more than one book, each volume should still be individually wrapped, with additional bubble wrap between each book in the box.
- boxes that are too small risk damaging the book in transit.

step by step
- Unframed prints should always be packed flat. wrap the print in a protective layer of glass, craft paper, or mylar.
- place the wrapped print on a sheet of cardboard that is at least two inches wider than the print on all sides. tape the corners.
- place five to seven additional pieces of cardboard, cut the same size as the first, on each side of the secured print. this will create a cardboard sandwich, with the print in the middle. tape opposite sides together.
- cover with a final outer layer of cardboard, or place in a box provided, making sure all gaps are protected with bubble wrap or crumpled paper.
- address your package, clearly indicating a return address and the name of your swann contact.
note:
- Brochures, small posters, and other paper materials may also fall under these submission guidelines.
- Folders or bound volumes of copies will need special care.

step by step
- Place the poster on a flat surface, image side up. for additional protection, you can place tissue paper or wax paper on the front of the poster.
- with the front image on the inside, roll the poster from the bottom up.
- if the el Poster is mounted on linen, you can use tape to secure it. if unmounted, take the extra step of wrapping a piece of paper around the rolled poster before taping it shut.
- put bubble wrap or crumpled paper at the bottom of the poster tube for protective insulation before placing rolled poster inside.
- add extra insulation inside rolled poster and to top of tube before sealing.
- place caps on each side of tube of the poster, adding a layer of packing tape on top to secure them.
- Send your package, clearly indicating a return address and the name of your swann contact.
note:
- the thicker the tube of the poster, the safer it will be from being crushed during transport.
- smaller posters can be packed flat, following the instructions for prints.

If the frame does not increase the value of the piece and the material is not too brittle, it may be best to remove the frame before shipping. we do not recommend sending frames yourself. material shipped in the frame often arrives damaged. If shipping the frame is absolutely necessary, consider hiring a professional handler (see below). Regardless of who sends the frame, make sure the glazing (glass or plexiglass) is well sealed (with painter’s tape) before packing. broken glass = damaged artwork!
