One of the most successful series of books written by author Diann Mills is known as the ‘FBI: Houston’ series. This series consists of a total of 3 books, which were published between the years of 2014 and 2015. The first book in this series was published under the title ‘Firewall’. Tyndale House Publishing published this book in the year 2014. At the beginning of the book, Taryn Young is depicted as preparing for a dream honeymoon after having a whirlwind romance. As she waits in the lobby of the Houston International Airport to take a seat, a bomb explodes, decimating the entire terminal. she remains alive, but deeply hurt. when taryn regains consciousness, she discovers that her husband has disappeared. what is even more shocking to her is that she has been named as the prime suspect along with her husband in the bomb attack. In addition, the FBI tries to convince Taryn that her husband is not what he has described. Agent Grayson Hall has top priority in catching the people responsible for the deadly attack. all the evidence that he finds a point towards taryn young and her husband disappeared from her. however, agent hall believes that she may be innocent and may have been the victim of the man claiming to be her husband. another theory states that she might have been framed in a master scheme due to recent software she developed for her software company. As tensions continue to rise, Agent Hall and Taryn realize that both their reputations and lives are at stake and they see no other way but to trust each other. throughout the case, they keep praying to succeed in solving the case before they become victims.
The next installment in the series was released under the title “double cross”. It was published by Tyndale House Publishers in 2015. As the plot begins, FBI Agent Laurel Everton is shown working on the investigation of a scam case involving the elderly. A police officer from the Houston Police Department named Daniel Hilton realizes that his grandparents could become the scammer’s next targets. he decides that he will not let it happen and forces an inter-institutional collaboration. Very soon, Daniel is attracted to Laurel’s zeal and empathy and agrees to work under her command. the two, along with the convicted criminal, uncover important evidence suggesting that the scam has already spread widely. It was deadlier than they had thought. As Laurel and Daniel go further, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a brutal killer. They begin to wonder if Wilmington’s claims are true or if he is misleading them.
