Alice Walker is a famous and celebrated American author, poet, novelist, activist, and writer of short stories and essays.
Born February 9, 1944, in Georgia, Walker has established himself as one of America’s pre-eminent writers. his writing has earned him many awards. She would become the first woman of African-American descent to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1983 for The Color Purple, which would win the National Book Award that same year.
Alice Walker is known for having a creative vision stationed on a variety of topics, including economic struggles and hardships, racial terror, African-American lore, culture, and life (especially in the rural American South). Her novels and short stories tend to explore the kinship between women with multidimensional aspects and the power of the revolution on a political or social level.

The first book in this series was adapted into a feature film of the same name. several of his short stories were also adapted. The film was released in 1985. It starred Whoopi Goldberg as Celie and was directed by Steven Spielberg.

The Color Purple is the first fiction novel by this author. This classic work of fiction is still relevant today and has sold millions of copies, doing quite well. it is critically. acclaimed and praised as one of the great works to be published in literature that has inspired readers and writers for years.
The story features the main character of Celie, an African-American woman who lives in the deep south of the United States. she stands between the eventual wars that will come to devastate the country. The story begins with Celie being young, just a girl who was born into a world defined by segregation. Her own world is defined by poverty and it seems unlikely that she can break out of a cycle that has lasted for decades.
Things are not going well for celie at home either as she is in a worse place than she would like to be, and that is putting it lightly. she is dealing with sexual abuse at the hands of the man she refers to as her father and is raped. she also has two children who were taken from her the second they were born. this being the situation, it is a desperate and very sad life that she actually lives.
She doesn’t have many people to trust since there is a certain distance between her and her sister nettie. She is very close to Nettie and loves her very much, but she just isn’t close enough to trust her. In addition to that, she is now married and her union is very ugly, toxic and sick. it’s like stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
celie feels miserable, trapped in her life and sees no way out. but in the midst of a dark and lonely life, she suddenly sees a light at the end of the tunnel when she meets a new woman. Shug Avery is not just a singer, but an empowered woman who sees her own worth. she has a way of making magic happen and she has taken full control of where her destiny is headed.
