andrew klavan is an american writer of mystery novels also known as keith peterson due to his pseudonym. he was born in 1954 in new york city. his writing includes mostly “tough guy” mysteries and psychological thrillers. he has won the edgar award twice for mrs. White and Rain in the category of “Best Original Paperback” and was nominated four times for the same award. laurence klavan, novelist and playwright is his brother. he has written columns for publications such as pj media and city journal. His parents were Gene and Phyllis Klavan, who were half owners of the radio show “Klavan and Finch” and a New York City disc jockey. he has three brothers and grew up with them on long island and studied business at the university of california, berkeley. Klavan was raised Jewish and has a wife named Ellen and two children. after the bar mitzvah he became agnostic and later converted to christianity.

He worked at a local radio news program and therefore temporarily dropped out of school. in the same year 1977, he writes “the face of the earth”, his first novel. After this, he worked for a local newspaper as a reporter in Putnam County, New York. the basis for the novel’s corruption of him came after he experienced local crime coverage. Klavan later worked for ABC Radio Network, Wor Radio as a news writer and as a script reader for Columbia Pictures. During this he came up with the pseudonym “Keith Peterson” and this appeared in such novels as The Rain, Hard Justice, The Trapdoor, The Scarred Man and Don’t Say a Word. After this he moved to London with his family and there he wrote three novels including a true crime. He returned to the United States after seven years and settled in Santa Barbara, California. here he completed the novel of him man and woman. he also wrote the trilogy known as weiss/bishop. This trilogy includes the road of dynamite, the alley of shotguns and the street of damnation. he launched the empire of lies in 2008, which is based on politics with themes of terrorism. A thriller aimed at young adults known as The Last Thing I Remember was published by him in the year 2009. He began appearing as host of the “Very Serious Comments” segment on Glenn Beck’s GBTV network. It received an Anthony Award nomination for Tough Justice and True Crime. Andrew Klavan referred to himself as a “libertarian” in December 2011. He endorsed Mitt Romney in 2012 for president.

agnes mallory (1985)

This novel is based on a girl named Agnes Mallory. Harry a boy meets Agnes in a stranger’s backyard. agnes is playing behind the house in the creek and harry walks home from school. They both play while her parents talk and she explains the supernatural to them. She tells Harry that she makes ghost statues out of cookie dough and breaks free into the river. This begins a forever spell on Harry’s life. after several years, he became a disbarred attorney and lives on the outskirts of a suburban westchester town and has a lonely life. He is haunted by memories of Agnes that happened more than a decade ago. As he walks over a young runaway he encounters something that forces him to confront his past for the first time. This unearthing mystery makes a holocaust of the strange girl Agnes that he met a long time ago.

White was produced in a movie like White of the Eye in the year 1987. This is a British thriller movie in which Cathy Moriarty and David Keith are the main characters and it is directed by Donald Cammell. Cammell and his wife china from him kong adapted it from klavan’s novel. His true crime novel was produced as a movie of the same name in 1999 as an American mystery drama film. This was directed by Clint Eastwood and he stars as a journalist in the film covering the execution. his novel don’t say a word was made into a movie in 2001 under the same name and directed by gary fleder. This movie stars Brittany Murphy, Michael Douglas and Sean Bean. He wrote the screenplay for the novel A Shock to the System (1984) which was originally written by Simon Brett, a British author in the year 1990. It was directed by Jan Egleson and starred Michael Caine, Elizabeth McGovern, Swoosie Kurtz and Peter Riegert.
