Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Biography

Nicholas Duncan-Williams is a Ghanaian charismatic pioneer, the Archbishop President and General Overseer of the Ministry of Action Chapel International (ACI), based in Accra, Ghana.

He is the founder of the charismatic movement that began 40 years ago in Ghana and other parts of West Africa. cafm, a church in many places, has more than 2,000 affiliates and 250 branch churches located in north america, europe and africa.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams is also the founder and president of the International Prayer Summit (PSI). in 2017, the archbishop was named by the new african magazine as one of “the 100 most influential africans”.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams became the first non-American to lead the inaugural prayer for the incoming President and Vice President of the United States. The Archbishop and his wife, Lady Rosa Whitaker, of the Whitaker Group, have been named one of Africa’s Power Couples.

In 1957, she was born to Florence Bruce even though doctors had previously told her that her pregnancy was a risk to her health and therefore performed a medical procedure to terminate the pregnancy. months later, mother florence found out that baby nicholas survived the medical procedure.

It was later discovered that she was actually pregnant with twins, with baby Nicholas being the only survivor. her father, e.k. duncan-williams, ambassador, politician, and boss became actively involved in nicholas’s life at the age of 16.

With 43 sisters and brothers, Nicholas was raised primarily to learn the art of surviving through difficult circumstances at a very young age. As she grew up, on multiple occasions, she nearly lost her life.

in 1976, on the bed of grief, after tragically losing three of his fingers, nicholas duncan-williams, was converted by nurses, mrs. raj (hemalatha john rajaratnam) from the nurses’ training school, and the acquah sisters, who evangelized him at his hospital bed at the now korle-bu teaching hospital in accra. He from that moment gave his life to Christ and made a vow that he would preach the gospel to the nations and serve God for the rest of his life.

after receiving his baptism of the holy spirit at the church of pentecost, he attended bishop’s church of god international bible college idahosa in nigeria for training as a pastor. Shortly after his return, he founded the Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM) and the International Action Chapel (ACI). cafm was the first charismatic church in ghana.

Christian Action Faith Ministries is headquartered at Action Chapel International, which is one of the largest megachurches in Accra. Starting as a prayer meeting in his father’s house, cafm moved to various locations (fadama, trade fair, international student lounge, diplomatic shop) as it grew until finally finding its headquarters on spintex road , where the prayer cathedral was. located since 1992.

since then cafm has grown in ghana, africa and the world with branches in europe and north america.

He is also the founder of an NGO Compassion in Action Africa that is transforming schools under the trees into 21st century primary education facilities while providing clean water and other forms of support. compassion in action also supports an orphanage with 150 children and a drug rehabilitation center with 120 people recovering from drug addiction.
