The first book in the series is simply titled Artemis Fowl. The main character, Artemis, is twelve years old, a genius, a child prodigy, a millionaire, and a criminal mastermind. He is the son of Artemis Fowl I, an Irish crime lord, and has followed in his father’s footsteps by engaging in criminal activities. The Bird Family has led the criminal empire for generations and Artemis believes, after much investigation, that he has finally confirmed that fairies exist.

He travels to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam with his butler bodyguard to locate the Book of the People, a holy book of fairies. Artemis begins a series of events when she takes a fairy captive. The fairy is Captain Holly Short, leader of the Leprecon (Lower Police Reconnaissance Elements) unit. these fairies are not the original fairies of the myth but armed, intelligent and dangerous. Eoin Colfer has described the book as “hard to die” with fairies. Artemis believes that she has the upper hand over the fairies and will be able to restore her family’s fortune through her plan with two cronies to take a pot of gold from the fairies and obtain the ransom.

But the fairies will stop at nothing to get their captain back. Then, Captain Holly’s senior commanding officer Root shows up to get Holly back, and he won’t stop until he gets her back. The fairies go to the bird mansion using their high-vibration warding abilities to get inside, but Artemis anticipated their entrance and set up a special camera to capture the fast-moving fairies. Root lays siege to the Bird Mansion after the fairies are apprehended and Artemis reveals his ransom: a ton of 24-karat gold.
As the plot progresses, other characters and creatures appear and the fairy council springs into action. The dwarves and trolls join in on the action as the fairies battle it out and Artemis finds herself making a usual request for Holly to help someone she loves.
artemis fowl: the arctic incident
The second book in the series, The Arctic Incident opens in Kola Bay. the russian mafiya has sunk the star fowl and two members have discovered the body of artemis fowl i who has survived but without a leg and without the use of an eye. three years later, her son artemis is talking to her counselor when he receives a call from the butler. Artemis is shown a video of her father in the hands of the Russian mafiya.
Artemis comes up with a plan on the way back to the bird mansion because a ransom demand is coming and there is no guarantee his father will be released safely. meanwhile, the lower element police are having problems of their own. A vigilante group with Captain Holly and Verbal Chix Soldier has been attacked by heavily armed goblins wielding forbidden soft-nosed weapons…powered by human batteries.
Artemis is implicated and Holly is sent to find Butler and Artemis for questioning, but Artemis is proven innocent. Against Holly’s wishes, Root recruits Bird and Butler to find the supplier. the attacks are being carried out by a former high-ranking member of the fairies. A warped and demoted as well as disgraced former lieutenant, he seeks revenge and works together with Foal’s greatest technological rival, Opal Koboi, a megalomaniacal pixie who is unsuspected in the plots due to the fact that goblins have been attacking. to koboi owned.

no one bothers root’s investigations to find out the truth, and they want to take over haven, so they kill root to get rid of it and further their plans. the investigation continues and is targeting the p.i. Meanwhile, artemis travels to murmansk with the butler while the fairies try to rescue artemis fowl i. meanwhile, a squad of goblins is on their way to ambush root’s group and kill him. they almost succeed and the attack leaves the butler unconscious and lying under the rubble with the root of the commander. Artemis and Holly use a nuclear train to free them, but the group is forced into emergency healing when the train door severs Holly’s trigger finger.
Meanwhile, the heather club has ambushed the foal and locked him in the ops booth. Opal works to disable the lep weapons and frames him as the mastermind while he leaves the rescue party disabled and unable to stop the goblins. the leps find themselves in a dire situation when foal sends a text message to artemis’s phone using his laptop to inform them that fairy communications and weapons are being tampered with by opal koboi. It’s up to Artemis and the gang to restore gun control and rescue Artemis Fowl I once and for all.
books turned into movies
The first and second book in the artemis fowl series have been chosen to be made into a movie. Artemis Fowl will be made into a movie by The Weinstein Company and Walt Disney Studios. The film will span the plots of Artemis Fowl and Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident and will be adapted by “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” screenwriter Michael Goldenberg. Miramax announced plans to turn the book into a movie in 2001, and the project was in development as of 2003. A release date has yet to be announced.
