But if you look at the best-selling lists of graphic novels, it’s the books aimed at children that generally get the most copies in the hands of readers. From downright funny stories to heartbreaking coming-of-age stories, kids of all ages really do flock to comics…especially ones written with them in mind.

The fact is that we live in the golden age of children’s comics. Just about every major traditional publisher has founded kid-focused graphic novel publishers in recent years because kids are devouring these books and begging for more. Even DC and Marvel are finally bringing more kids’ comics to the table, particularly DC with its lineup of young readers and middle grade graphic novels. Charlie certainly doesn’t fit the Three Peaks vision of a perfect camper.
