kaplan 8 practice exams for new sat 2016

Get ready for the new sat with confidence! i think these kaplan practices did an excellent job of capturing the feel of this new sat and helping the student get used to practicing the various ways of extracting information from reading (whether on the reading test itself, language or math) and apply it. . I really like the way they gave the answers, categorizing them as “easy, medium, hard”, explaining the skill needed, and often explaining why the answer was correct. I didn’t expect to miss any at my age, but I did, and as I worked through the problems, I better understood why I missed them. taking all 8 practice tests would definitely help, not only did I improve from the first to the second, but more importantly, I felt more comfortable with the format after finishing the first. eight practices would be helpful.

mcgraw-hill education sat edition 2016

This seems to be the first of the new satellite test prep guides and it’s excellent. Clearly, the authors have done a lot of research to understand and communicate the differences between old and new SATs. two main changes are that there are four answer options per question (no doubt an attempt to mimic the act exam), more time is given per question, and scoring reverts to the maximum score rubric of 1600. additionally, the vocabulary now looks like have a justification for being included in the test, focusing on words in context. there is a writing section that allows for 50 minutes to complete, but includes a long passage to which the student responds rather than a general, generic statement.
