When I started dating three months after splitting from my husband (once my high school sweetheart), I knew nothing. and by nothing I mean that I only had my relationship with my soon-to-be ex to call and an isolated double date with a not-so-special 16-year-old a few months before we met. To say it didn’t know which end was up would be an understatement.
so I did what I always do to calm down: I read. when he wasn’t on a date, he had his nose buried in a book. but not just any book. dating and relationship books I sought to learn not only about the process, but also about the guys I was seeing.
You are reading: Books about dating after divorce
Men often say that women are difficult to understand. and they are right. but not for the reasons they think. women tend to be pretty simple when it comes to their wants and needs. it’s when women don’t understand themselves that they suddenly become confused for the opposite sex.
A woman whose needs are not being met and who is adjusting or waiting for a person or situation to change tends to become that “crazy” woman who brings “drama” wherever she goes. On the other hand, a woman who knows her worth and is clear about what she needs and wants from a relationship can effectively communicate her desires to a potential partner.
The books on the following list help women do just that. what they will not do is offer instruction on how to manipulate or deceive men. I have deliberately left those titles out. instead, these titles advise women to recognize when men don’t treat them well and why, and then how to find the strength to walk away from an unsatisfying or harmful relationship to try again with someone new . here are my top 10 picks.
