Who can place orders in the Book & Stuff Store? all government agencies (including libraries, elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities), corporations, inmates, and the general public. very important: we are an approved provider in almost every state. however, you should check with your individual facility to ensure we are on the list of vendors you can purchase from.

allowable package content: Be sure to check with your individual facility before ordering. each facility has strict guidelines regarding books, calendars, and magazines that contain sexually explicit content, nude or seductive photos, photos of weapons, cartoons/drawings of nudity or weapons, maps, and gang-related material. Many facilities also have restrictions on the number of items you can receive at one time, multiple quantities of the same item, product size, and binding type. journals: Your facility may simply seize a particular journal issue, or you may return it to the publisher as “rejected.” Be sure to write to the publisher right away to notify them that you want your subscription to continue, as most of the time they will put your subscription “on hold” if a problem is returned to them.

delivery and shipping areas & Handling: Food can only be scheduled for delivery Monday through Friday (no deliveries on Saturday or Sunday). flowers can usually be scheduled for delivery any day of the week (may be affected by recipient location). Depending on delivery restrictions, carriers’ holiday busy schedules, and unusual weather conditions, we may need to schedule gift deliveries to arrive at least a day or two before the specified date or occasion. All other items: We ship within the entire United States. however, we do not ship gifts to alaska or hawaii. for books, calendars, and stationery, we use the u.s. postal service only. We use UPS and FedEx Ground for government agency orders and “gift” orders. All orders ship from our warehouse within 3-7 business days from the date the order is placed. *shipping times are for “in stock” items only (so it’s important that you include alternatives). all packages are sent with “delivery confirmation”. shipping costs are applied to the “ship to” address of each individual package. Items will not be shipped unless applicable shipping costs have been paid. Once the package leaves our warehouse, it normally takes 2-8 business days to reach its final destination. Note: If you add the expedited shipping option to your order, it’s important to know that orders will still take 3-7 days to process. however, the order will be shipped via usps expedited priority mail (which usually takes 2-3 business days to deliver, instead of 2-8 business days).

Gift Orders: Gift orders (flowers and gift baskets) sent to family and friends are sent to postal addresses only and will be received within 7-12 business days (from the date of order processing), unless you specify a future delivery date. If you select the “expedited shipping” option for your gift, the package will be delivered within 5-8 business days (from the date the order was processed). We are not responsible for unclaimed packages or packages sent to an incorrect address provided to us.

Flower and Gift Baskets: Food and flowers are perishable and cannot be restocked for resale. Failure to provide the required valid phone number and the absence of a recipient signature will result in forfeiture of the full purchase price.

signature required: flowers & gift baskets require a person to sign for delivery. otherwise, the gifts will not be delivered. Recipient’s Phone Number: A valid recipient’s phone number is required for the delivery service to notify the recipient of the scheduled delivery and to ensure that someone will be there to receive the shipment. Wine Baskets State Restrictions: Wine basket deliveries have certain state restrictions and cannot be shipped to the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, West Virginia (al , az, ar, ga, ky, ms, mo, ok, ut, wv).

Magazine Subscription Orders: By placing a magazine subscription order with us, you imply that you have read and agree to the policies outlined at the bottom of this page.

Book orders: Once your order is received, it takes 3-7 days to process. most orders will ship within that time frame, unless an item in your order is on “back order.” Once the order is shipped, it takes 2-8 business days in transit as it is handled by the United States Postal Service (all book orders are shipped via USPS Media Mail). Clothing Orders: All clothing orders are shipped separately from any other items and must include applicable shipping costs. Before ordering: We kindly ask that you verify and comply with the requirements and policies of your individual facility, regarding items allowed, quantity, material, colors, maximum package weight, etc. All refused/returned items will be restocked at the negative 25% restocking fee and will result in forfeiture of shipping and handling fees paid.

ship to address: If you are ordering by mail and have an existing bntw account number, please indicate it in the upper right hand corner of the order form (which can be downloaded directly from our website). Please make sure the shipping address is legible and correct. If items are being shipped to a correctional facility, please include all necessary information (inmate number, unit number, etc.) so your packages and subscriptions can be delivered correctly.

Alternate Items (Out of Stock/Back Orders): From time to time, publishers may encounter reprint difficulties, resulting in several of their books being on “back order” or “out of stock” indefinitely . other times, publishers announce the release date and end up pushing the date back or canceling publication altogether. In addition, clothing and gift providers may discontinue an item, or a product may be temporarily unavailable. this is something that we, in the store of books and things, cannot control. therefore, we strongly recommend that you list several alternate items in order of preference (either in the “alternate item number” section of the order forms or on a blank sheet of paper). this will ensure that we can easily substitute any unavailable products with items you list as alternatives, and avoid delays in order processing. if you do not list alternatives, any items that are on “back order” will be noted on the packing slip included with each shipment. If the “back order” item does not arrive at our warehouse within 60 days, we will credit your account and notify you. We do not cancel any backordered item before 60 days. For gifts that have an upcoming holiday or occasion listed, we reserve the right to substitute the unavailable item with a similar product to ensure timely delivery of your gift(s).

Additional Order Forms and Questions/Inquiries: We accept orders on plain paper (full sheets). just be sure to add the appropriate postage and shipping costs for all items (see shipping and handling tables). If you need an order form to place an order, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request (we will mail you 4 order forms at no charge). check with your facility to make sure you can receive multiple copies. our order forms can also be downloaded from our website.

Restocking Fee: A 25% restocking fee and lost shipping & handling charges will apply to any items returned as “refused/refused”, “vendor unapproved”, “invalid/incomplete/undeliverable address” or “overage items/duplicate copies”. returned packages will require shipping & handling charges for resending. returned items may also result in forfeiture of the full purchase price as well as shipping and handling charges. handling charges, if the contents are not returned in their original packaging (unopened and undamaged) or if they cannot be returned to storage for resale (this applies to items such as flowers and perishable gifts). Any item returned in a condition other than stated will result in forfeiture of all costs paid by you.

Return/Exchange Policy: The Books & Stuff Store has a no return or exchange policy (no substitutions or cancellations).

coupon codes: Any valid coupon code must be used at checkout (before completing the order on our website). coupons cannot be applied once the order is placed.

First Issues: Your first issues will typically arrive within 8-12 weeks (this is the publisher’s normal processing time). magazines with 8 issues or less per year can take 12-16 weeks to start. on rare occasions, the first issue may take even longer to arrive if the publisher is experiencing publication delays or is in the process of changing publisher clearinghouses. further delays may occur if you are transferred and a change of address is processed prior to the arrival of your first number. each publisher operates on a different printing and shipping schedule (so some subscriptions will start faster than others). Please note: Expedited shipping does not apply to magazine orders.

Alternates: It is extremely important that you include some alternate titles with each order (in the shipping instructions section), as magazine prices and availability change without notice. Unfortunately, we cannot control when titles increase in price, become temporarily unavailable, or go out of print.

order confirmation: When we receive and process your order, an order confirmation will be mailed to the recipient. exception: when you order books and magazines in the same order, the confirmation will be attached as a “delivery note” on the outside of the book shipment. packing slips will sometimes include customer service and warehouse notes referring to your order.

change of address (coa): once you receive your first issues, save the publisher’s address and mailing labels. It is the responsibility of the publishers to handle all COA requests or delivery issues, and for you to notify them directly of any issues related to your subscription(s). Remember, the publishers are the ones who mail you the magazine (not the book and stuff store). every coa results in missing numbers, because it usually takes 2-3 numbers for publishers to make the change of address effective (since they print the shipping labels for their publications several months in advance). also, your old installation probably won’t send you the missing problems. Follow the tips below to minimize the number of issues you will lose as a result of a COA: 1) If you are about to be transferred to a new facility, wait until you arrive at your new location before placing a new order. 2) When you receive the first issue of a new subscription, look for the publisher’s name, address, and phone number (usually found near the front pages of the magazine…usually under or near the table of contents). save this information so you can notify editors directly of any address changes or delivery problems. *if you are transferred or moved before you receive your first issues, please contact us immediately so we can notify the editors of your new address.

Cancellations/Substitutions: Once an order has been submitted to publishers, there is no way to replace a subscription and publishers do not issue refunds for cancellations. If your facility declines a subscription or you requested one in error, we’ll be happy to notify the publisher that you’d like that subscription sent to a friend or family member. Since COAs can take 2-3 issues to become effective, you may still receive a couple of issues at your facility, even after the COA has been processed. In the event that a particular magazine ceases publication after your order has been processed, the publisher will select another publication (at its discretion) to fulfill your subscription period. the first issue of this editors pick publication may take longer to arrive. note: numbers per year may change without notice (this is at the discretion of the publisher).

Issues seized: Your facility may simply seize a particular journal issue or return it to the publisher as “rejected.” Be sure to write to the publisher right away to notify them that you want your subscription to continue, as most of the time they will put your subscription “on hold” if a problem is returned to them.

New or Renewal Subscriptions: Please be sure to indicate “new” or “renewals” on the order form and please note headings throughout our catalog as “new subscriptions” only. we suggest placing magazine renewal orders at least 4 months before the expiration date listed on the current subscription label.

duplicate issues: If you mistakenly order a subscription you’re already receiving, you’ll likely start receiving duplicate issues of the same journal. if this happens, be sure to write directly to the publisher (include shipping labels for each of the duplicate issues) and ask them to combine your subscriptions.
