Tell No Tales: Pirate of the South Seas

Tell No Tales Cover- Anne Bonny swinging from rope off her ship

Tell No Tales by Sam Maggs and Kendra Wells is the light-hearted story of Anne Bonny. Full of sass, solidarity, and fencing, Tell No Tales is a graphic novel about belonging, belief, and how far we’re willing to go to protect the ones we love. This is a great choice as it is also inspired by the historical exploits of real life pirate Anne Bonny. it might be worth revisiting in case it shows up in season two.

princeless: raven the pirate princess

Princeless: Raven the Pirate Princess- five members of the all female pirate crew in town

Ready for a story of revenge and camaraderie? princeless: jeremy whitley’s raven the pirate princess is a comedy series! fans of our flag means death will enjoy panels filled with fantastic chase scenes, cinematic fight scenes, lush scenery, and memorable crew members. However, the world of Raven is diverse with a mix of mid-18th century ships, ancient Polynesian island cities, and steampunk technology, so if you’re a purist pirate, this might not be right for you.

in deeper water

cover of in deeper waters- Two boys holding onto rigging, leaning close together

purchased specifically deeper water by f.t. lukens after finishing our flag means death and it was just what I needed! If you need more of the fluffy, swashbuckling side of our flag means death, you’ll love this fantasy read. Get ready for silly jokes and lots of tender kisses in this queer romance. In Deeper Waters is now my favorite cozy read. it may be a weird tale of the little mermaid rather than the pirates exactly, but hitting the notes of our flag’s lighter moments means death makes for the perfect way to wait out the hiatus.

tides of mutiny

Tides of Mutiny cover- Lane holding onto Jolly Roger in a storm

Is your heart easily taken by a salty sea dog that doesn’t play by the rules? Rebecca Rode’s Tides of Mutiny is set in a world where all the female sailors are executed, but not all are gone. Lane Garrow has spent her life at sea and would die before giving up…which is a very real possibility when a prince shows up and threatens to blow his cover. riot tides has a lot of tension of “will they, won’t they?” with a crossover from enemies to lovers that makes it hard to put down!
