Yamada’s book isn’t specifically about racing, however, he does share that a small idea can turn into something amazing. will teach students the power of being creative and the importance of perseverance.

careers: the graphic guide to plan your future
This is not a read aloud, but it contains a lot of great information! this book would be great for elementary and high school students. allows them to start with their interests and find relevant careers from there.
Be sure to also give students the opportunity to preview picture books about specific careers. Check your local school or library to find children’s books about different jobs. Are they interested in being astronauts, fashion designers, or authors? Picture books will spark ideas and get students thinking about what interests them!

1. career interest inventory
Begin by having students identify their favorite subjects in school and hobbies at home. this will guide them to a future job that will interest them! A career interest inventory is a great tool to use.
2. job application & resume
Having students write a job application and resume will help them understand the importance of their current experiences. When students complete this resume and job application, have them use their classroom work and school awards!
3.job interview
This is the students’ favorite part! Once they’ve identified a career that might interest them, ask them to interview in front of their peers. they will dress for the role and the students (or the teacher) will ask them interview questions. so cool!
