Chad Zunker is a best-selling author of thrillers, best known as the author of the “David Adams” and “Sam Callahan” series of novels. As a teenager, he went to the University of Texas, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and also played on the varsity football team. Zunker had always wanted to grow up and become a career author ever since he stepped foot in a field and was hit with the full force of a 240-pound, 6-foot-5 senior. This was the turning point, as he crushed not only the skinny teenager, but also the dreams he had of one day playing in the NFL. After graduating from law school, he went on to work at some of the most prestigious law firms in the United States. he has also been a successful inventor with many baby products that he sold all over the world. He made his writing debut for “The Tracker”, the debut novel in the “Sam Callahan” series in 2015 and has never looked back since. he currently has his home in austin texas, where he lives with his family.
Zunker’s experience working as a lawyer has had a great influence on his later career as a writer. Working for some of the most powerful and prestigious law firms in the United States, he saw how much money his firms were throwing at top students graduating from law schools in hopes of attracting them. just like him, these young lawmen would be under a lot of pressure. he still remembers arriving at the law office to find many freshmen sleeping at their workstations, since they never had time to go home and worked all night. he watched the partners plan secret meetings where they played clandestine power plays, which he says was like watching something from the tv show “survivor.” chad zunker was also present when the eighty year old law firm with all his money and power crumbled to ashes. everything had been undone by the dark power struggles and greed of the partners. It is from such experiences that he would be inspired to write his “David Adams” series of legal thrillers.

chad zunker had always been drawn to stories in which the underdog goes to great lengths to overcome overwhelming odds. when he was a teenager, he had lost his father to cancer and this caused him a painful wound and had to overcome many emotional hurdles. This makes it easy for Zunker to like characters like Sam Callahan and David Adams. his main characters often struggle to find the reasons for his loss and pain and to find his identity. his characters seek to overcome their past while trying to make something of their lives. the seed of “fair justice,” his first thriller, was planted in his mind more than a dozen years ago. he had entered a homeless encampment and found about a dozen men willing to accept him as one of their own. he still remembers walking away from that secret homeless camp thinking there was something unique about the experience but also incredibly moving. Since he had always wanted to write something other than entertainment, he began to write the manuscript of “an equal justice”.

He has just been hired by one of Austin’s most prestigious law firms and is on a fast track to a glamorous and wealthy life. it is a personal victory and a great achievement for a man who had a desperate and impoverished childhood. He has achieved most of the things he’s always dreamed of, including a luxury SUV, a high-rise condo, an extravagant salary, and unlimited potential for advancement in his company. But then a fellow associate commits suicide and David is shocked. The man had sent an ominous warning to David a few days earlier. he now he can’t help but feel the pull of powerful forces that could ensnare him in the enviable trappings of money and power. The suicide unexpectedly results in David stumbling upon a secret haven for the homeless. he feels a kind of strange affinity with the homeless, even as he feels they hold the key to unraveling a dark conspiracy. when one of his close friends is murdered, he begins to realize that his feelings of a dark reality are not just a product of his imagination. he is torn between two very different realities and he may have to give up all of his achievements for the sake of justice.

chad zunker’s “an unequal defense” sees david adams the lawyer working for his new friends in the homeless. he had left his prestigious law firm a year earlier and now has several friends and acquaintances among the homeless who sometimes help him when he needs something. When a delusional young man named Rebel is accused of killing the county attorney, he knows he has to help him. but the fact is that he had also been a close friend of the prosecutor. By playing a rebel, he goes against the advice of many of his friends and everything he believed in. Working with his motley crew of assistants, they uncover some shocking secrets. they thought they were investigating a murder in an alley, but realize there is more to the story. surely rebel, his friend, is innocent of the crime but will be able to free him before it’s too late. his friend is not safe in jail, even though some of david’s other friends are also being attacked. he needs to find the answers to the mystery quickly.
chad zunker’s “fugitive justice” sees david still working for the little guy. he loves working for the downtrodden, but often has to get by on very little money. when a stranger calls him to the juvenile detention center, he immediately heads there to help in any way he can. he had called him a boy he never knew but what he doesn’t know is that the call will change his life forever. David is working with Jess, who has been sentenced to community service but isn’t upset about doing it. she is working with adams and this is something she always wanted to do. they are working on the case of parker, a minor who witnessed something he shouldn’t have and now his life is in danger. Racing against time, they have to find out who is coming after him.
