Tween horse books and the series of horse books for tweens (and tween girls, especially) are highly regarded by fans of the genre. I don’t read too many horse books, but I have several horse fanatics in my life that it was almost essential to make this list. Contrary to popular opinion, children read horse books too, and in this list of middle-grade books about horses, I was pleased to find several with children as protagonists.
