chris bohjalian is an american author. He was born in White Plains, New York, on August 12, 1962. He currently lives in Lincoln, Vermont. he was born to an Armenian father and a Swedish mother. he studied at amherst college. In college, he participated in the Phi Beta Kappa Society as a member. he worked for j. Walter Thompson as an account representative in the mid-1980s. He married Victoria Schaeffer Brewer on October 13, 1984. Chris Bohjalian left J. walter thompson in 1987 after a threatening incident in the city in 1987. he moved to bohjalian with his wife where he bought a house and started writing for local magazines and newspapers. He also contributes to many columns for such publications as the New York Times, The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, and Burlington Free Press.

bohjalian is the author of 15 novels. most of them are new york times bestsellers like secrets of eden, midwives, before you know kindness, law of similars, strangers of the night, skeletons at the feast and the double bind . He was also the winner of the New England Book Prize in 2002. His first novel was a murder in the real world. This book was released in 1988. Bohjalian’s third novel was Beyond the Bleachers which was published in 1992. It appeared in Hallmark Channel TV movie in 1995. Another book by Bohjalian that was adapted into films of distinctive fame was The Midwives. . Secrets of Eden also appeared in a Lifetime TV movie.

a murder in the real world

This novel is about four roommates who went to college together and live alone after graduation. after graduation, one is not rich like the others, two are executives, and one is married. We meet a female narrator, Lisa, who is reading a newspaper article to Malanie about Penny, her roommate, being murdered. The sad part is that Penny had a good job as a brand manager, married, and life for her seemed promising. Her death is mysterious as she was found dead in a drug dealer’s apartment and nude photos of her were taken. the police investigate and interview her family and friends. The three roommates are left with unanswered questions about the cause of Penny’s death and the circumstances in which it happened. however, the death toll does not end and another friend dies leaving more worries than ever.

The Midwives was the fifth Bohjalian book she wrote in 1998. Oprah Winfrey selected the novel as her Oprah Book Club’s October 1998 selection. new york times. The novel was adapted into a TV movie (Lifetime Movie Network) starring Sissy Spacek as the title character. It’s about Sibyl Danforth, who is a midwife in rural Vermont. she becomes embroiled in a legal battle when she loses her patient after an emergency C-section. The midwife is a specialist in childbirth and maternity care. she mocked by other doctors. These doctors believe that it is not appropriate for midwives to take care of delivery services, since they cannot perform it as efficiently as they do. .however, some witnesses think that sibyl killed the mother, and her life could have been saved had it not been for sibyls action. sibyl faces hostility from doctors and is charged in court with involuntary manslaughter.she goes to court to prove she is innocent.
