jonathan kellerman is an american author of fiction. Born in 1949 in New York City, Kellerman grew up in the angles. He is known for his Alex De series, which began with the release of the novel When the Branch Breaks.
kellerman has written the jacob lev series in collaboration with jesse kellerman, his son. He is also the author of the Petra Connor and Clay Edison series. He has also written several stand-alone novels, beginning with 1988’s The Butcher’s Play.
jonathan worked his way through his education at ucla as a columnist, editorial cartoonist, editor, and freelance musician. He won an award for fiction writing when he received the Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award in his senior year at age 22. Like his character Alex Delaware, this author also received his Ph.D. in the field of psychology at the age of 24 while he was also specializing in the treatment of children.

He also completed internships in clinical and pediatric psychology while working at children’s hospital los angeles, he is also a chla postdoctoral fellow in psychology and human development. The hospital asked him in 1975 if he would help conduct research looking at the psychological effect of being isolated through plastic bubble units and how it affected children who were sick with cancer.
This undertaking was really successful and in the end it would lead to the creation in 1977 of the psychosocial program of the oncology division. that was the world’s first general and comprehensive approach to how the emotional aspects of having cancer in children affected their health. jonathan was approached to be the founding director and published extensively in the area of behavioral medicine.
Decades later, this program still exists and continues to break new ground. That’s also due in part to being under the guidance of one of Jonathan Kellerman’s (former) students. his first book was not fiction but non-fiction: a medical text. It came out in 1980 and was titled Psychological Aspects of Childhood Cancer. then a year later there was a book for parents called helping the fearful child.
Jonathan’s first novel was titled When the Branch Breaks. It came out in 1985. When it was published, it received much critical and commercial acclaim, as well as success. It quickly became a New York Times bestselling novel. it would end up being produced for television as a movie. it also received the anthony boucher and edgar allen poe awards for best first novel.

Since its initial success, this author has been able to produce one or more best-selling crime novels each year. he has also written and illustrated children’s books, two for children and one about children in a more serious format (child violence, the book came out in 1999). He is no longer an active psychotherapist and is a professor teaching at the Keck School of Medicine in Southern California in the area of Pediatrics and Psychology.

The Crime Scene is the first novel in the Clay Edison series by Jonathan Kellerman. Clay Edison makes his debut in this novel and has a slightly more demanding job than the rest of the country. he makes a living looking at corpses and gets to find out if they died just because it was their time or because someone killed them.
In Clay’s line of work, he sees a lot of dead bodies. but his job is not to find out who did it or why he did it. normally their job is just to look at the body and figure out what’s going on. But when a seemingly simple case turns out to be a little more than it seems at first, now Clay is faced with something a little more than he’s used to.
It’s up to him to use his training and his eye to figure out what’s going on. when a man lies dead at the foot of his stairs, it seems at first that the lonely, eccentric man fell. he is now cold and dead in his own house, and while the scene seems pretty obvious at first, all may not be as it seems.

The psychology professor appears to have died from a lifetime of drinking coupled with a bad heart. however, his daughter says that his father has been murdered. She pleads with Clay to examine his life and find out more. A tale of violence and scandal, as well as an experiment gone awry and ending in death: Rennert appears to have been a broken man.
