Readers enjoyed the characters, setting, and plot of this one. kate is a great main character, one who is motivated to protect family and friends from him and has a lot of tenacity as she tries to find clues to solve the case. it’s a fantastic start to this cozy mystery and readers enjoyed the entire afternoon they spent reading it. the way connie describes the scottish island, the characters and the home make you feel like you’re there with kate the whole time.
“A Legacy of Murder” is the second novel in the “Kate Hamilton” series and was published in 2019. It’s Christmas and Kate is going to visit her daughter, Christine, in the picturesque English town of Long Barston. Christine and Tristan, her boyfriend, work at the stately but dilapidated Finchley Hall. Taking a tour of the Elizabethan house and grounds, Kate is intrigued by the docent’s stories of Finchley’s treasure and the strange deaths surrounding the famous hidden treasure. Kate sees the body of a young woman near a small lake, killed with a garden spade.

Could Lady Barbara’s son have killed again? When another body is found, clues begin to point back to Christine. It’s up to Kate to clear the name of her son.
the book has some twists and turns that keep you entertained until the surprising ending. this is the kind of warm and delicious book that you can instantly snuggle up and immerse yourself in. Connie’s writing is just as beautiful as it was in the first book in the series.
