Yet for Dixie and her younger brother, Alabama is home, a place of languid afternoons and pine-scented breezes. Despite the fact that Dixie is realizing that the family she had initially believed to be perfect was full of fractures that were deeply hidden. Unlike many young storytellers who are gorgeous, Dixie is the kind of kid who won’t think twice about throwing dirt in a person’s face. however, dixie-duprie is not only vulnerable but also heartbreaking, giving her character an amazing amount of depth.
That said, dixie duprie’s upbringing is not only clear, it’s also a vivid portrayal of all the characters. the narrative itself is compelling and fast-paced. however, readers should be aware that there are numerous graphic depictions of sexual assaults, making the narrative a bit difficult to read at times. Also, considering that many of the characters in Dixie-Duprie’s upbringing have been through a lot, many of the characters are seriously broken. the sad part is that many of the broken characters are very innocent.

the road to bittersweet the road to bittersweet is a narrative that revolves around the stamper family. the protagonist of road-to-bittersweet is wallis anna, a fourteen-year-old girl who lives with her family in stamper’s creek. ann along with seph, her younger brother, lucia, her younger sister and her parents are forced to flee their home after a hurricane hits her town. The hurricane brought with it torrential rains, eventually causing the Tuckasegee River to flood. as anna’s family fled, the floodwaters suddenly swept away her truck. anna’s family finally managed to retreat to the back of the truck. However, Ann Willis and three other family members are forced out of the truck when it hits something in the water.
It’s not long before Anne’s family is reunited. the family gathers once again in a place where their family home used to be. Even though Anna’s family lost everything in the flood, they still have each other. With few resources, Anna’s family begins their fight for survival. however, tragedy strikes again for the second time. the family decides to leave their home and then travel from one town to another and earn a few dollars singing. as anna’s family was on the verge of starvation, anna meets clayton, a few meters from one of the camps they used to visit. Anna and Clayton eventually become friends, and for the first time, Clayton gets his first chance to fall in love with her. Clayton eventually manages to get them a job where the family can be part of a traveling circus.
That said, The Road to Bittersweet is a story about the many challenges a family faces. all the characters on the road to bittersweet are complete and realistic. Like The Dixie-Duprie Education, author Donna Everhart tackles key social issues. Anna and Clayton are very likeable characters, and readers can easily relate to them. Due to the fact that Donna Everhart has only two novels under her name, she shows promise and readers should expect more from this highly entertaining and talented author.
