Socio-emotional intelligence is key to teaching our children the skills they need to manage all kinds of different emotions and situations. but how can we teach such an important skill? When in doubt, books are always my go-to!

In times of difficulty, crisis and great emotions, I always turn to books. they are such an easy way to pass on the management of feelings with our children. reading these books that teach social-emotional intelligence can open the door to great juicy conversations, as well as understanding why we feel the way we feel.

Children’s books are an excellent resource to help our children identify emotions and discover how to resolve conflicts while processing emotions. they can help foster empathy and kindness.

I want to give my children healthy and positive social skills as well as nurture their education. my husband always jokes that whatever happens, I always have a book or ten for every need. but an effective selection of books can help provide circumstances that children can relate to, in any situation. That’s why I’ve searched the internet for the best children’s books to help me learn about big emotions. and when we have those especially difficult days, these books have been lifesavers.
