It’s finally fall so let’s fill your bookshelf with some fabulous fall books! These are my favorite fall books I read at circle to teach students all about the harvests, change of season, and events that fall brings. From a square pumpkin to a trip to the apple orchard these books are full of vibrant pictures and rhyming text which will get your students ready to enjoy everything the season has to offer. Wonderfall This book is about a tree and the changes it endures from the end of summer to the first snowfall of winter. The author incorporates the word fall into words throughout the book which makes this a fun and whimsy book to read. 
Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf The illustrations in this book are made up of watercolors and parts of trees. It also has a glossary that gives information on photosynthesis, sap, and other tree facts. 
It’s Pumpkin Time! A brother and sister decide to grow their own pumpkins for Halloween this. With colorful illustrations, the pumpkin patch comes to life as the sibling’s patch grows and the kids get to harvest their crop. 
Ten Red Apples Hurry to count the apples before the farmer and all of his animals eat them all up. A Day at the Apple Orchard This book is perfect to read right before a field trip to an apple orchard. The pictures were taken from an actual trip to pick apples. There is also useful information on the proper way to pick an apple. 
Little Apple Even though the seed of the apple tree is small, it still produces juicy apples for us to eat! With simple pictures and language, this book describes the life cycle of an apple from blossom to fruit. 
The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin Spookley is different than all of the other round pumpkins. He just wants to be included with all of the other pumpkins. This is a good book to read about friendship. 
Apple Farmer Annie Annie makes a lot of yummy treats out of the apples she grows. From applesauce to apple pie, Annie has a very fun and tasty job. 
Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin Where is your pumpkin? Go on a pumpkin hunt to find out! 
A Day at the Pumpkin Patch Here is another book that would be a great read before a class trip to the pumpkin patch.

Leaf Man The pictures in this book are of fallen leaves. They tell a story of the leaf man. No one knows where he will go, besides the wind. 
Fall Leaves Fall! Fall is full of fun things to do. From baking cookies in the shapes of leaves to making leaf art! 
Fall Mixed Up Will your students be able to tell that this book is all messed up? What will give it away? The bears who gather nuts… or maybe the squirrels that fly south. 
We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt Inspire a leaf adventure with this fall book that follows friends on their leaf hunt. At the end of the story, they use the leaves they have collected to make a leaf pile. 
Autumn Leaves Get a close-up look at trees that have their fall colors on display. Beautiful photographs too! 
When the Leaf Blew In This cause and effect book will give your students a good laugh when they find out how one leaf can cause so many problems for the animals in the barn. 
There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves A great classic with a fall twist. This time around the old lady swallows enough items to make a scarecrow!
