the sisterhood series consists of 24 very well developed novels written by the famous and remarkable writer fern michaels between the years 2003 and 2014. the series deals with the problems faced by women and the ways to deal with them. The novels in this series show the lives of seven different women, who have all experienced an unfair life at some point or another. they face problems from a cheating husband, sexist colleagues, and an unfair legal system, to name a few. to deal with their problems, these seven women form a group under the name “sisterhood”. With their bond growing stronger, the women discover their inner strength and continue to trade the evil for good they face in their lives. they believe that in the face of any injustice there are two options; either to play dead or to fight back. With each act of justice, women become bolder and stronger. the initial pair of novels in the series were very successful, laying the foundation for a well-written series of 24 novels. The first novel was titled ‘Weekend Warriors’ in the year 2003, which introduced the characters and plot of the series. It was continued in the next novel, which was titled “Payback” and was published in 2004. The descriptions of the central characters in this series are as follows:
1. Myra Rutledge Myra Rutledge is a rich woman and she is also the founder of the sorority. she is in her sixties and quite fit. Myra decided to form the sorority when a Chinese politician killed her daughter in a hit-and-run accident. she is the brains behind the group taking all necessary actions and trying to help those in need. With the formation of the sisterhood, Myra avenged the death of her daughter and continued to help those who faced the injustice of the system.

2. Lizzie Fox Cricket Lizzie Fox is a lawyer by profession and has a very sharp brain. she has a perfect body shape and silver hair. Lizzie is always one step ahead when it comes to the legal system and has worked as a Senior Counsel for some time in the White House. she is in her thirties and has good connections in the white house. the current president of the white house is her fellow law student.
3. Anna Ryland De Silva Anna Ryland De Silva, or Annie as she is often called, is Myra’s childhood friend. she is as fit as myra and also in her sixties. Annie has gray hair and is in great shape. she is quite active and agitator in the group, that she can also perform a pole dance. Annie is very rich and has a lot of money. she likes her cowboy boots a lot and she wears white boots with rhinestones. sometimes annie wears glasses too.

4. nikki quinn nikki quinn was the best friend of myra’s daughter and now she is adopted by her. she is very moved by the loss of her friend and her devotion to her mother. Nikki is a lawyer and she knows very well how to play with the deficiencies of the judicial system. she has deep knowledge of the system and is powerful in her actions. Nikki recently married Tack.
5. alexis thorn alexis she was a very successful runner until she was jailed for a fraud case. she had a flourishing career, which was not satisfactory to some of her rivals. As a result, she was drawn into a fraud case and her career was destroyed. she had to spend a year in jail and the real culprits enjoyed the proceeds of the scam. Alexis is pretty good at dressing up and she has really long legs. she has become part of the sorority and works as a personal shopper.
6. Isabelle Flanders Isabelle Flanders is another victim of injustice. A colleague framed her for drunk driving and killing three people. Before that, Isabelle had everything to lead a peaceful life. she had her own architecture studio and a fiancé. the colleague stole everything and destroyed her career. she even lost her fiancé and was totally devastated. little by little isabelle is trying to recover everything she lost by working as a single professional. She has regained her architectural license and is on the move to rebuild her lost career and life.
7. Kathryn Lucas Kathryn Lucas is the first to be claimed by the sorority and the tallest of all the girls in the group. She has dark brown hair and is one of Nikki Quinn’s former clients. she has a nuclear engineering degree from mit, but likes to work as a long-distance truck driver. Kathryn was gang raped by three bikers in front of her disabled husband. her later, she manages to take revenge for the brutal rape committed by bikers with the help of the brotherhood.
8. Charles Martin Charles Martin is a former spy who used to work for the British intelligence agency, MI6. he helps the brotherhood with his networking and experience. charles lives with myra after retiring from mi6 and works as a gourmet chef. he likes to cook for the girls.

9. Harry Wong Harry Wong is married to Yoko Akia and is an expert in martial arts. He has a love-hate relationship with Jack, but treats him like his brother. Harry works as a training officer for law enforcement officers at the FBI and CIA in D.C. harry and jack would kill for each other.
10. jack emery jack is a tall and handsome boy. He works as a federal prosecutor and is married to Nikki Quinn. jack is even a black belt holder.
11. yoko akia yoko akia works as a florist and has a plant nursery in her name. she is also skilled in martial arts and is well trained to kill without leaving a trace. Yoko is married to Harry Wong.
the first novel in the sisterhood series was called “weekend warriors”. this novel shows women with their extraordinary talents and their search for justice. When Nikki’s best friend, Barbara, is murdered by a politician, she is devastated. even barbara’s mother, myra feels nothing without her daughter until she comes across news of a mother stabbing her daughter’s killer. She inspired by the news, she decides for the sisterhood and fight against the injustice committed against women. Myra teams up with Nikki and brings together all those who have stood up to the injustice of the American justice system. At first, they try to get revenge for the injustice done to Kathryn, who was raped by motorists. they plan a final revenge but are not sure of success. leaving everything to their fate, they take revenge and are motivated to do justice to others as well. Since it was their first job, the girls were quite nervous at first, but after they finished the first job, they gained confidence in their skill and ability. the novel was very successful and caused a change in the mentality of the people. Fern’s idea of such a story was greatly appreciated. she was motivated to write more novels in the series.
The second novel, ‘payback’, showed the group seven women who had decided to fight injustice and bring joy and happiness back into their lives. They live in Myra’s house in Virginia and plot their second revenge. they try to teach a lesson to a US senator, who cheated on his wife to advance her political career. julia webster was abused by her husband and betrayed at every moment of her life. her dreams were shattered and her future seemed to be in the dark. the brotherhood teaches her a lesson on the eve of her political victory and revenge for the injustice done to julia. This novel was also highly appreciated by readers and inspired Fern Michaels to complete a total of 24 novels in the Sisterhood series. editors weekly praised his efforts, referring to his work as a plate full of fast-paced, floral centerpieces with poetic justice. the novel was rated with good stars and was declared an entertaining masterpiece. all note writers praised fern for his writing. the way he describes the plot and the characters is very interesting.
