However, the miscarriage, caused by moon java, was incredibly traumatic and lysa almost died from it. Furthermore, the demand for abortion was an embarrassing fact for Lord Hoster Tully, and he had been desperate to marry off his daughter before someone discovered the secret.

cersei, tyrion and littlefinger are spreading the rumor in retaliation for stannis baratheon sending letters across the seven kingdoms claiming that joffrey, myrcella and tommen became incest bastards.

by the way, it’s a huge bummer that they never revealed patchface. He is quite an interesting character. remember the tune it’s always summer under the sea, what shireen sings in the third year? patchface staged a clash of kings, which is much darker than it seems.
patchface lost his mind after being chased by a storm that killed 100 people, along with his rhymes which tend to be grim and threatening, and are believed by some to be prophecies. however, patchface is good friends with shireen, so it’s quite possible that she sings the tune too.
