graeme simsion is an auckland-born australian writer, data modeller, playwright, consulting manager and author. he is famous for writing contemporary stories, fiction, humor and comedy. Simsion has successfully written the Don Tilman series of books, which have reached a large number of readers around the world. Before the start of his writing career, he used to work as an information systems consultant at an IT company. While working on that job, he wrote a few articles on data modeling and two books. In 1982, Simsion established his own consulting business called Simsion Bowles & Associates who had grown to a force of over 70 employees but had to sell it in 1999. He later co-founded another wine distribution company with Steven Naughton and called it Pinot Now. After trying his hand at several other business ideas, Simsion finally decided to pursue his Ph.D. degree from the university of melbourne in 2006 in the subject of data modelling. Previously, he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Monash University and Deakin University respectively.

In 2012, author Simsion won the Unpublished Manuscript Award for his first book called The Rosie Project. The book’s original publisher, Text Publishing, sold its rights internationally for more than $1.8 million. After debuting in Australia in 2014, the book sold more than five million copies in print in more than 40 countries around the world. Author Simsion has stated that he initially wrote the novel as a screenplay. After its great success, Sony Pictures Entertainment opted for its film adaptation. Simsion wrote and published a sequel novel in the same year. Its third installment is expected to be released in 2019. In addition to this popular series, Simsion has also written a stand-alone book called The Best of Adam Sharp. Following its successful release in 2016, the film rights to the book were sold to Vocabulary Films. Following this, Simsion co-authored a book with his novelist wife Anne Buist titled Two Steps Forward. Simsion and Anne are happily married with two children.

The debut book in the series is titled ‘The Rosie Project’. was launched in 2014 by Text Publishing. This novel is narrated by the socially challenged and strangely charming genetics professor, who describes his unusual quest to find true love.

at the beginning of the book, it is mentioned that don tillman has never had the opportunity to have two dates with the same woman. Because of his profession, he has very few friends. and due to his distaste for social rituals, he thinks that he will not be able to have romance in his life. later, when a friend tells don that he is going to be a wonderful husband, he is surprised to hear it. So, determined to find his perfect match, Don Tillman embarks on his wife project. he continues this ambitious project by approaching things in an orderly and evidence-based way. he expects her to be a logical and punctual woman, and neither a drinker nor a smoker. Rosie Jarman has all the qualities he looks for in a life partner, but she also has the qualities he doesn’t like in his future wife. he seems to be on his own quest to find his biological father. And for this purpose, Rosie needs a DNA expert who can help her to verify if the find of hers is really her father or not hers. seeing the urgency of the search for rosie, don decides to suspend his project and give rosie the necessary help. being in his company makes for an unlikely relationship to develop. he forces don to realize that love can come to life in one of the most unexpected ways. he proposes to rosie and takes her as his beloved wife.

the second novel in the series is called ‘the rosie effect’. It was also released in 2014 and features the central characters Claudia, Don Tilman, Dave, Rosie Jarman, Gene, Lydia, and several others. The setting of the book takes place in New York City, New York. simsion has started the story by describing that don manages to complete the wife project. He is happily married to Rosie and they both live in New York City. As Rosie Jarman is pregnant with her first child, she and Don are about to face another big challenge in their lives. Before the birth of his first child, Don Tillman thinks about preparing to be a father. he begins to learn all the necessary protocols, but soon gets into trouble with the judiciary due to the unusual investigation of him. Fortunately for him, his great friend, his gene, is there to give him the best advice on this matter.

gene has left claudia and lives with rosie and don in new york. later, don tillman finds himself performing a number of tasks at the same time. he tries to reconcile claudia and gene, schedule pregnancy research, allow time to repair the industrial refrigeration unit that has taken up half of his apartment, help dave save his business, and get on good terms with a social worker named lydia. as he does all of this, he fears that he may end up being away from his wife when she most requires her presence. and this seems to be the biggest problem in don’s life right now. this novel was labeled as a clever love story by many critics. readers loved reading a romantic story filled with lots of laughs. many others were drawn in and captivated by the engaging characters and engaging plot of the book.
