h.g. Wells was one of the UK’s prolific authors, who used to write his own books based on a variety of genres, including politics, history, social realism, science fiction, etc. today, he is best remembered for the science fiction books written by him and is regarded as the father of science fiction. Along with him, two other authors are included in this club and they are Hugo Gernsback and Jules Verne. Author Wells has written numerous notable works of science fiction throughout his writing career. In his lifetime, he was nominated for a Nobel Prize in Literature a total of 4 times. Earlier, the author Wells had specialized training in biology, and his thinking about ethical issues took place in a fundamentally and specifically Darwinian context. From his earliest days, he was an avowed socialist. The later works of the author Pozos became increasingly didactic and political, so he used to write less and less science fiction. many times he used to indicate in his official documents that he was a journalist by profession. Some of the early novels author Wells wrote depicted lower-middle-class life and led everyone to believe that he was the worthy successor to Charles Dickens. however, he did not stop at this alone. he went on to sample different social strata and on one occasion even attempted the diagnosis of English society as a whole. The author Wells was a diabetic and co-founded the Diabetic Association in 1934, known in today’s world as Diabetes UK. The author Wells was born Herbert George Wells in Brombley, Kent, UK. he was born on september 21, 1866. wells was the youngest of 4 children of sarah neal and joseph wells and his relatives called him bertie. The Wells family had inherited and purchased a store that sold porcelain and sporting goods. however, it did not prosper and generated little income. Wells’s father used to support the family income by playing professional cricket for the Kent County team. but that didn’t usually serve the family well, either.
When Wells was a child, he was involved in an accident that left him bedridden in 1874 with a broken leg. As a means of passing the time, he got into the habit of reading books that he used to get from a local library. Soon, the author Wells was devoted to the worlds that were shown to him in the books. the interesting stories also stimulated his impulse to try writing. that year he entered the commercial academy, which was a private school that had a curriculum focused on developing students’ writing skills. Due to the erratic teaching method of the school, author wells benefited a lot. Wells continued to study there until 1880. His father was injured in 1877, ending his career as a cricketer. and since there was no other important source of income, the family decided to place wells and his brothers as apprentices in different trades. Wells was subsequently made to work as a draper at the Hyde Drapery Emporium. there, he used to work for 13 hours every day and sleep together with the other trainees in a dormitory. The experience that Wells gained at the time of this work later inspired the plots of his books Kipps and the Wheels of Chance. these books portray the life of an apprentice draper and provide a critique of the distribution of wealth in society. In 1891 he married his cousin named Isabel Mary. Later, when he began to love one of the students named Amy Catherine Robbins, they decided to separate in the year 1894. Catherine and Wells were married in 1895. Due to his increasing poor health, he moved to Sandgate, where he built his large house called Spade House in 1901. Wells went on to have affairs with many other women in his life, all with his wife’s consent. some of his adventures with other authors. In addition to writing books, author Wells was also a prolific artist. He liked to express the feelings and thoughts of him through the sketches and drawings of him. he often used the sketches on the covers and endpapers of his journals. the paintings covered a variety of subjects, from political commentary to literary contemporaries, as well as his romantic interests.

one of the best known books written by h.g. wells is titled as ‘the food of the gods’. It was first published in the year 1904. The author Wells has introduced the main character of this book as Albert Caddles. the central theme of the plot deals with the description of things that happen when science tends to manipulate nature. In the form of a riveting cautionary tale, Wells has shown the disastrous results revealed by the chilling sci-fi story. At the beginning, a couple of scientists are shown trying to create a new food growth agent that could have beneficial uses for humanity. in their attempt, they discover that the spread of the material cannot be controlled. as a result, several giant rats, bugs, and chickens start running. the children given the new foods also show incredible growth, as well as serious illnesses. As the years go by, the people who ate the treated foods find that they cannot fit into the hypocritical and ignorant society. they are excluded from traditional society for having unusual mental powers. consequently, hatred and ignorance increase because a line of distinction is drawn between giants and ordinary people in families and communities. Another fascinating science fiction story written by Wells takes the form of the book titled “War of the Worlds”. it was initially released in 1897 and then again in 2002 by modern library publishers. The author Wells has described the attack of the Martians on England. The creatures from Mars arrive in large cylinders. the first cylinder comes close to woking. Out of curiosity, a large group of people gather to witness the supernatural machine. but, the Martians go out and kill numerous humans through their heat ray. moreover, the creatures continue to cause great destruction of life and property. Since humans are totally powerless against the Martians, it seems that the world would come to an end. but, the supernatural creatures do not have a factor that causes their end on earth and forces them to fly back to their world.
