Vin is an eminently likeable protagonist whose development throughout the book is beautifully and realistically outlined. The magic system is extremely intelligent and well integrated into this complex and plausible world that Vin and Kelsier inhabit. While this is the first in a series, it’s an extremely satisfying book on its own, and fans of the genre shouldn’t waste time reading it.”

In short, it is one of those great turkey books, in which the author has thrown not only a bone of idea and some potatoes of originality, but half a cow and everything in the garden. and then add the seasonings. highly recommended for anyone hungry for a good read.”
