Netflix’s new series, The Lincoln Lawyer, is making quite an impression as it hit the streaming platform earlier this month.
Based on a series of bestselling novels, the story of Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) has previously been adapted, with Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Phillippe leading the cast from the 2011 film.

This time around, however, there are 10 episodes of binge drama, following Mickey’s exploits after his former law partner is murdered, leaving him to take over the company, and a high-profile murder trial.
Marking the biggest case he’s ever had to tackle from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car (where he runs his law practice, hence the name), Mickey discovers there may be more at stake than he thought.

who wrote the lincoln attorney books?
the lincoln attorney book series consists of six main novels written by bestselling author michael connelly.
The first titular novel was published in 2005, followed by The Bronze Verdict (2008), The Reversal (2010), The Fifth Witness (2011), The Gods of Guilt (2013) and The Law of Innocence of 2020.
connelly serves as writer and executive producer for the series, along with showrunner ted humphrey.

connelly is also the author of many other crime stories and series and is the creator of the fictional lapd detective turned private eye, harry bosch.
bosch, the character exploits television show starring titus welliver, was a huge hit on prime video, running for seven seasons. The new spin-off series, Bosch: Legacy, has just been released on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video.
In what order should I read the Lincoln Lawyer books?
This is where it gets a bit tricky.
first of all, the lincoln attorney tv series is based on the second of michael connelly’s books, the brass verdict, so you might want to start there.
Secondly, Connelly has her own multiverse with her fictional characters, drawing them in to appear in various other stories; In addition to Harry Bosch, there’s also LAPD night shift detective Renée Ballard and investigative journalist Jack McEvoy, among others.
So, in addition to the six main Mickey Haller books, our ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ also appears in Nine Dragons (2009), The Crossing (2015), The Wrong Side of Goodbye (2016), Two Kinds of Truth (2017 ), and the fire of the night (2019), which are all bosch novels.
In fact, Bosch is actually Mickey’s older half brother.
He’s also set to make a cameo appearance in November 2022’s Desert Star, which is a Renée Ballard story.
