Jack Reacher is the title character and protagonist of a series of books by British author Jim Grant, who writes under the pseudonym Lee Child. The books in the series follow Reacher as he goes through a series of exploits in his world. Reacher has been called one of the “most original and tantalizing pop fiction heroes of this century” by the Washington Post. While Lee Child himself has been called a master of his craft by publications such as Entertainment Weekly and the series has attracted a large following.
killing floor: this is the first book in the jack reacher series. child was awarded the anthony award and the barry award for best first novel. The book begins with Jack Reacher getting off a Greyhound bus in the city of Margrave, Georgia, for the simple reason that he heard that a blues musician he liked had died in that city.
However, much to his surprise, he is arrested soon after by order of the local sheriff. the bailiff claims that he saw the reacher leave the scene of a murder and arrests him for that crime. what they don’t know is what the reacher is capable of. Reacher meets Detective Finlay and an officer named Roscoe who believes Reacher is innocent. Jack will work with them on the case to bring the right killer to justice.

Die Trying: In this book, Jack Reacher heads to Chicago, where he witnesses a woman kidnapped on the street. he is in the wrong place at the wrong time, which leads to him being kidnapped with her. the two are chained up and locked in the back of the truck as he heads off to an unknown destination. the men who kidnapped them seek an impossible ransom. the woman is worth a lot of money to someone and it is possible that she will get it.
However, the bad luck turns out to be with the kidnappers. Jack may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the wrong guy was kidnapped. Jack will do whatever it takes to save them both from this ordeal, or he’ll die trying.
tripwire: jack is in key west trying to enjoy the weather and anonymity away from his life in the military police. that anonymity is soon broken when a stranger shows up looking for him with lots of questions. Jack has questions of his own, but he won’t get any answers from him since the man just turned up dead.
Reacher will leave Key Bone behind and set out on his way back to New York, where the dangerous corners of his own past await him. A ruthless assassin lies in wait and the Reacher is the only one who can bring him down.
Blind Running / The Visitor: Jack is trying to settle into a house in New York that he recently inherited from an old mentor. however, he has never been one to feel tied down and feels that the house may be binding.

Without fail: The story begins in Atlantic City where Jack has just arrived after hitchhiking across the country. upon his arrival, he meets a secret service agent, m.e. Froelich, who once dated Reacher’s brother Joe.
needs reacher’s help with a job to assassinate the vice president of the united states, theoretically. Froelich needs his help to find the holes in his system because there’s an undercover group planning to do it for real. would-be assassins have thought of almost everything in their plan to kill, but there’s one thing they didn’t plan for: the reacher.
persuader: reacher is on a seemingly endless quest to right wrongs and rewrite his past. He’s working, unofficially of course, with the DEA when this story begins to bring down a suspected drug smuggler, but he also has his own motivations. Night School: This is another flashback book that takes place in 1996 and sees the Reacher sent back to school by the army. he is one of three in the class and the other two are an fbi agent and a cia analyst. as a reacher, they both wonder why they were sent to this school. Everyone finds out when they learn of a jihadist sleeper cell in Germany that has received an unexpected visitor with a message.

The message is what catches their attention since the messenger states that an American wants one hundred million dollars. they do not know who asks, whom they ask or what they give in return; and this group is tasked with finding out all of that. time is not on their side and all they know is that they need to find this man before an epic act of terrorism is committed. Their mission will send them from Langley to Hamburg, Jalalabad to kyiv as they try to stop this act of terror.
Midnight Line: The reacher heads to a small town in Wisconsin where he notices a class bell for west point in the window. the year in the ring is 2005, which would have been a tough year to graduate to iraq and then afghanistan. he realizes that the ring belonged to a woman and sees her initials inside. this leaves him wondering why she would have given up something he worked so hard for and he decides to find out by looking for her and returning her ring to him.
Your journey will take you through small towns, the middle of nowhere, and the Wyoming desert. as he goes deeper in search of him, things become more dangerous for him. the ring is just one link in a chain that leads the reacher into a vast criminal enterprise.
past tense: A trip from maine to california sounds like a big trip for reacher, but it doesn’t go very far. She arrives in New England before noticing a sign to a place she’s never been before: the place where her father was born, and decides to take a detour.
Meanwhile, a couple of young Canadians are stranded in a motel after their car breaks down. The two were headed to New York City to sell some treasure and now they find themselves stuck in this small town. the motel owners are friends at least. maybe a little too kind.

As he explores his father’s life, his investigation and the danger facing Canadians begin to merge.
blue moon: reacher sets out to help the shevicks, an elderly couple who have been down on their luck. Both of them have made some mistakes that have left them owing a lot of money to some very bad people. Reacher’s attempts to help end up making him a wanted man in the midst of a turf war between rival gangs. To stay ahead of loan sharks, thugs and murderers, Reacher teams up with a waitress who knows more than she lets on. Reacher has a plan to make the greedy pay, but it’s a long shot and all the odds are stacked against him.
the sentinel: reacher ends up in a town near pleasureville, tennessee, which is anything but nice. In the middle of the day, Jack sees a man about to be ambushed four against one, so he does what he does and deals with it with his unique brand of conflict resolution. The man’s name is Rusty Rutherford, an IT manager, who just lost his job after a cyber attack wiped out the city’s data. This novel is one of the things you can look forward to when looking for novels that have great stories and the great action you need to keep you engaged. this novel will move the person. is one that makes a great summer read. readers will be stunned by the action with intent when they decide to read this novel. both novels follow the larger than life character, a 6’5 reacher, as he gets very involved in the action and is a hero in his own way. his military training comes in handy within these novels. Read both novels as an introduction to the character of Jack Reacher, and he may want to read more.
