jane kirkpatrick can trace her roots to mondovi, wisconsin, where she spent most of her childhood. Because so many of her cousins lived so close to her, Jane’s life was filled with many interactions with her extended family.
this changed when jane finally moved to oregon in 1974 after completing her studies in social work. Jane Kirkpatrick initially focused her attention on English while studying at the University of Wisconsin. however, she eventually changed her major to social work and even earned a master’s degree in the field.
Life finally brought Jane to a ranch near the John Day River. at this point, she had already spent thirty years working in the field of social work. It wasn’t until she realized that she could sell so many of her independent items that Jane felt so good that she finally quit her job and settled down on a ranch with her husband.
of course, with so many decades injected into the field, jane found that leaving social work was not so easy, and it was the first thing she started doing when the ranch became a financial burden; even though she only worked part time on the warm springs reservation.
This gave him plenty of time to do some writing, not just at night but early in the morning before he started on his homework.
The author’s first book, which she called Homestead, explored her life on the ranch and the work she had done to build it. she finished it in 1991, although that particular book was not the success she hoped for.

This story is based on real historical events. a white boy fell out of a caravan and was raised by Indians. however, she was never one of them and they were unwilling to accept her.
As a result, she was heavily mistreated, looking to dogs for warmth and friendship. when her tribe concludes that she might bring bad luck, the girl is finally banished.
This story is pretty sweet. the opening sections are very emotionally heavy. however, things happen when the protagonist of the story is exposed to the rest of the world.
