Jeff Shaara, the son of an Italian immigrant, was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1952. The boy grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. in 1974, jeff graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminology from florida state university. At the age of 16, he operated a rare coin business, initially out of his home and later in a retail store. He later moved to Tampa, where he became one of Florida’s best-known coin and precious metal dealers. Jeff’s father, known as Michael Shaara, died in 1988. Due to the death of his father, Jeff sold his business and took over the management of his father’s estate. his father was a prolific novel writer
when the movie called “gettysburg” was released in 1993, based on his father’s novel, called “the killer angels”, he approached jeff and they persuaded him to continue his father’s story or find a person who could write history. prequel and sequel to the novel, the killer angels. this was after the critical and commercial success of the film. after much thought and considerable soul-searching, he decided to give it a try to tackle the project himself. his decision led to difficult in several ways. the challenges he encountered were because he had no previous writing experience.
In 1996, Ballantine Books Publishers published Jeff’s first novel. the novel was known as “gods and generals” and was the prequel to the great work of his father. The novel entered the New York Times bestseller list and stayed there for about fifteen weeks. Critics across the country praised Jeff’s writing ability and the book. The novel received the “Boyd Award,” which is the prestigious award from the American Library Association. Everyone, including Jeff himself, was shocked. The novel focuses on the events that occurred between 1858 and 1863 during the civil wars in the United States and ends with two armies marching on Gettysburg. Jeff copied his father’s approach from him in that he focused on a senior officer of both armies that included Lt. Col. Joshua Chamberlain, Lt. gene thomas, eldest gen. Winfield Scott Cock and General Robert E. leeward. he describes the emotional drama of soldiers fighting old friends of his. Author Shaara also accurately reveals historical details, including strategies, troop movements, and tactical combat situations. The novel shows that General Hancock fears the day he will shoot his old friend named Lewis in the Confederate Army. The novel also reveals General Lee’s disillusionment with the Confederate bureaucracy and also General Jackson’s religious fervor. more about the book covers all the events leading up to the war. Includes the battles of the First Bullfight, Second Bullfight, Williams Burg, Antietam, Chancellorsville, and Fredericksburg. the film version of the book covers the events immediately prior to the war. The film focuses mainly on Lee, Virginia’s secession, and omits the Battle of Antietam.

In 1998, Jeff Shaara devised the sequel, “The Complete Last Measure”. the novel was published with the same result as “the gods and the general”. The novel stayed at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for thirteen weeks and garnered universal acclaim from fans and critics across the country. Employing similar styles to the other novels, the author takes readers to the top soldiers of the Confederate and Union Army as they reorganize after Gettysburg and move into the last 2 years of the war. The novel narrates the stories through the eyes of American history of the most illustrious and significant characters. the stories have been told in a third-person tone.
Many of his books have been made into movies and have performed in an exemplary manner. Jeff’s work of fiction on the battlefield is unique and popular in around 10 of the highly valued hallowed grounds. Because of this, he was appointed to serve on the Civil War Board of Trustees. The eighth book of his name, The Rising Tide published in November 2006, gave the first trilogy after an extraordinary cast of characters in the European theater of World War II. That book was ranked #8 on the New York Times bestseller list. The second in the series was the wave of steel following the key characters of the invasion of normandy. It was released in May 2008 and was a New York Times bestseller. The third in the trilogy, it was called “No Less Than Victory” and was released in November 2009. It quickly became Jeff’s ninth best-seller.

The author’s eleventh book, called The Final Storm, was published in 2011. The novel completes the World War II series by telling the story of the end of the war in the Pacific. >
the author’s new series began with the release of “a strange glory” in 2012. the first of four books deals with the civil war in “west” and consists of a book covering the battle of shiloh, “a chain Of Thunder” was the second volume, released in May 2013, and was Jeff’s twelfth bestseller dealing with the campaign and the Siege of Vicksburg. The two works that follow, featuring Chattanooga and the final campaigns on Sherman and atlanta to the end of the war in carolinas, they would be published a year apart.“the smoke of dawn” was published in june 2014. the fourth book will be published in late spring 2015.
In 2011, Jeff was recognized twice by his former Florida State University. In September of the same year, Jeff was inducted into the “College of Criminology Hall of Fame”. During Homecoming in November, Jeff received the school’s first annual “Distinguished Writer” award. The author has also received prestigious awards from the Lincoln Forum, including the Richard Nelson Current, the New York Civil War Roundtable’s Bell Wiley, and the Nathan Bedford Historical Society’s Distinguished Author Award. ford forrest.
