it would be 2015 when jessica redland would finally publish her first novel titled ‘new beginnings in flowers by the sea’. this would see her produce a succession of books, many of which would go on to create several long-running series. these would include recurring themes and locations as it would draw heavily on her own yorkshire setting to help draw her inspiration.
While many of his books would be labeled romantic comedies on the surface, Redland would seek to explore deeper ideas through his work. Initially published through boldwood books in 2016 on March 3, this would be the second book in the ‘whitsborough bay’ series. It would also be known as “Getting Over Gary” and would feature another romance set in the same small town as before. many characters would return in cameos, while the location itself would be built up, with redland drawing his own life for the stage.
both funny and thoughtful, there is much left after finishing this book, with many strong ideas present. the story itself is very well done, with a rich and engaging world that really draws the reader in and keeps them there. his characters also leave a strong impression, as they feel totally real and genuine on the page, staying with the reader.

Being the second title in the ‘all you need is love’ series, it would also be set in whitsborough bay once again. Working like a romantic comedy on the surface, there are genuine moments of drama along with sincere warmth and humanity. It has a lot of unique and interesting surprises along the way that really help keep the reader fully engaged in the story. clearly showing the power of friendship and the force behind it when people come together, it’s a heartfelt and very nice title.
