who is joe abercrombie?
Joseph Edward Abercrombie is a British fantasy writer born in Lancaster. He studied psychology and worked at a television company making tea before embarking on a career as a freelance film editor.

It was during this time that Joe Abercrombie thought about writing again; she tried it while she was in college, but she didn’t do well. This time she found her voice, a less serious but bloody violent voice, and she finished writing her first novel, The Blade Itself, published in 2006 by Gollancz. most of her books are set in the same universe, known as the world of the first law.
joe abercrombie is a multiple locus, gemmell and british fantasy ward nominee and won the locus award twice, for half a king and the novella hard times in 2014.

the first world series of laws
The first series of Laws is set in an epic fantasy world at war called the Circle of the World. in the north, the union (containing several provinces) is at war with the northmen, a harsh alliance of various northern tribes.
In the south, the Union and the Gurk Empire are in conflict for control of the Union city of Dagoska. the story follows the fortunes and misfortunes of the characters who inhabit this world and navigate through these and other conflicts.
