Milton treats his work as an art or craft, and he is brilliant and ruthless in his chosen profession. he’s been on the job for ten years when the cleaner, the first book in the series, begins and now he’s looking to get out. Unfortunately for him, this is not the kind of job a person can just walk away from.
The book series is written by Mark Dawson. he is an english author who grew up between manchester and chicago. Before becoming an author, Dawson worked as a lawyer and in the London film industry. mark was a kid from the 80s and one of john milton’s influences was the movie the equalizer. he currently has his home in wiltshire with his family. In addition to writing the John Milton series, Dawson is also the author of the Soho Noir series.

The Cleaner is the first book in the John Milton series. The story introduces us to the ultimate problem solver in John Milton. the British government only calls on him when they need to deal with the worst of the worst. they send him after the enemies of the state that the secret service and the military have been unable to stop. he is excellent at his job, but after years of service he is starting to have problems. Milton is now plagued by nightmares and makes the decision that his next job will be his last. when he is finished, he hopes to begin to make amends for all the things he has done.

Ends up in London’s East End, where a young mother needs your help to get her son off the streets. she has joined a gang with a charismatic leader who is not about to let him go. this is an unknown enemy for him and he is not quite sure how to handle it. then his employer gives him a job that sends him after another agent who puts even more on his plate.
the john milton series continues with santa muerte. The story of this picks up six months later, as Milton has been off the grid. He surfaces in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, where he later becomes involved in a battle against some drug gangs that control the area. A young journalist reporting on the area is targeted for death by the gangs, but Milton manages to save her, putting a target on her back. Now, Milton will have to smuggle the reporter to Texas if he wants to keep her safe. However, the drug gangs aren’t messing around and send the legendary assassin Santa Muerte – Santa Muerte – to stop them.
the driver is the next book in the series and milton is beginning to have hope for his future. He has taken a job in San Francisco as a taxi driver, which has given him not only solitude, but also anonymity. that invisibility to the world has given him a comfort he hasn’t felt in some time and he doesn’t want to be found. then one day he takes a woman to a party and then she disappears, followed by two dead bodies leading the police to consider him a suspect. attention is the exact opposite of what he needs and he might draw the attention of those he is trying to stay away from. The body count is mounting, and as the details begin to emerge, it appears that Milton was in the wrong place at the wrong time. to protect himself, he sets out to put an end to these murders.

The eleventh book in the John Milton series is called The Alamo and finds Milton in New York. He finds Coney Island in the off-season to be a great place to escape. there are few people and a lot of peace and quiet, just what you need. However, that peace and quiet don’t last long when a local boy witnesses a murder and Milton decides to investigate. The case will lead him to a vicious drug lord and to a compound known as the Alamo which is full of crooked crops.
redeemer is the twelfth book in the series and takes place in rio de janeiro. you’re here to see an old friend from the army who runs a private security company. One day, a bodyguard doesn’t show up for work and Milton offers to take his place for the night. Taking a judge’s wife and daughter to a recital is a simple job, but things quickly go awry when the girl is taken from the street and Milton is nearly killed. now, he needs to find the girl and take care of those who did it. People here think Milton is old and broke, but they couldn’t be more wrong. his deadly pursuit will lead him straight into the heart of darkness in rio.
The twentieth book in the series is bulletproof. Milton has been running from his past for a long time, but his enemies have stayed close to his tail. Now he has been captured by his old organization and they demand another job in exchange for his freedom. He is assigned as a bodyguard for an arms deal between Russia and India. Milton has worked with billionaire Tristan Huxley before, but his world has gotten a lot darker since Milton last saw him. He now has the chance to wipe the slate clean for good, but can he really trust them to keep their word on the deal? Will he be able to get out of this alive?
