kami garcia is a renowned author of the genres of science fiction, children’s fantasy and adventure novels. As a child, Kami was a superstitious girl who grew up in the Washington, DC area. she was quite a peculiar person, believing in things that normal people don’t. she really could never sleep in a hotel room with the number ’13’. Since her birth on March 25, 1972, she grew up with a passion for writing and spent most of her childhood writing poetry in spiral notebooks. In addition to writing, Kami likes to listen to Soundgarden, watch disaster movies, and drink Diet Coke.
She attended college and earned a master’s degree in education and has since been teaching children in washington and then in los angeles, where she was a reading specialist as well as a teacher. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband, daughter, son, and two dogs (Spike and Oz) named after characters from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.

It has been published in 50 countries and translated into 39 languages. There has even been a movie based on the book that hit theaters on February 14, 2013. It is a Warner Bros. production starring Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Alice Englert, Emmy Rossum and Alden Ehrenreich.

Beautiful Creatures was named Amazon’s number one teen book of 2009 and ranked number five on the publisher’s top 100 list. He was also a finalist for Wing’s William C. morris debut, a yalsa “top ten teens” selection, a new york public library “books for teens” selection, and a sciba award finalist.
However, this has not been the only book that has been successful under the name of kami. In 2012, she received the Bold Ink Award for her story in her Red Story Race. This story appeared in The Guardian after its selection as the UK National Short Story of the Month. She is also the author of Unbreakable, which is the first book in the Legion series that made its way into film production like Percy Jackson, The Lightning Thief and The Twilight Saga.

She is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Pen West, and the Horror Writers Association. she works with writegirl, which is a non-profit organization to advise and encourage creative writing among girls. She has participated in many festivals and book fairs to promote the development of young people’s writing skills. These include the Texas Book Festival, the Times Book Festival, the Paris Book Fair, the Rome Film Festival, the Ala Annual Conference, the Austin Teen Book Festival, Comic-Con International, the southern book festival and the capitol book festival for young adults that she co-founded in chrleston and is director of the festival. she is also one of the founding members of the smart girls tour. reaching out to the next writers is what kami has been trying to achieve ever since she achieved her success and surely she is succeeding in her company.

Along with Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia has written the Caster Chronicles series of books. This series is made up of four books and a novella and is classified as a contemporary fantasy novel aimed at young people. Set in a fictional town called Gatlin in the American South, the series is based on life, the townspeople, the witches, and the friends of the casters. these books have many magical creatures from the first in the series, which are beautiful creatures until the last one; beautiful redemption. the other two books in the series are also characterized by magic and fiction, just like the novel. the second book in the series is beautiful darkness, the third is beautiful chaos, and the novel is called dark dream.
In Beautiful Creatures, Margaret and Kami introduce Ethan Wate, who is the narrator for the entire series. The bold 16-year-old lives in Gatlin but doesn’t like its small town and wants to move. he has no mother but lives with his father and his grandmother but for months he has had a recurring dream. in the dream he is falling but not alone; he is accompanied by a girl whose face he cannot see but he is sure that he loves her. this is very disturbing for him and when he wakes up one day during his second year in high school, he finds a new song on his ipod called ‘sixteen moons’ with very strange lyrics, but this song then disappears. At school, he hears the same song performed by a girl named Lena Duchannes on his viola, which puts him at ease. Lena isn’t exactly the teen looking for popularity, but when Ethan nearly runs her over with her car and offers to give her a ride home, he realizes she’s the girl of her dreams. this is the beginning of their friendship and they can communicate telepathically. Ethan then starts having visions after gaining access to a locket and the visions are all about Lena’s ancestral origin. Although Lena initially doesn’t want to accept Ethan’s help, she later explains to him about her family, which is made up of wizards. However, this doesn’t keep Ethan away, but brings him even closer, willing to romantically pursue Lena and help her. investigate their two families to discover the truths about their peculiar families from the books and the vision of the locket. In due time, Ethan’s love is strong enough to protect Lena from any evil spirits.
In the beautiful darkness, lena and ethan have to deal with the death of lena’s uncle, macon, who dies while trying to save nathan in the beautiful creatures ending, who had been struck by the mother’s dark spirit from lena, sarafine. In this book, Ethan meets Liv at her library job after high school. this provokes chaotic responses from lena, who begins spending almost all of her time with her evil cousin, her ridley. Ethan later realizes that her mother and her macon were lovers from her visions. There are so many past revelations in this book, but in the final chapters, Ridley loses all her powers.
all of these books incorporate magical creatures, suspense, continuity, and an intriguing plot of two teenagers whose love conquers even the divide that has existed between the two families for generations.
