kathleen e. Woodiwiss was an American author of fiction. He was born on June 3, 1939 and passed away in 2007. His full name was Kathleen Erin Hogg before they married. she wrote in the historical romance novel genre and was considered a pioneer of the romance genre, greatly influencing many romance authors who followed her for some time.
He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to his parents Gladys and Charles Wingrove Hogg. she had seven siblings and was the youngest of eight. her father was a veteran of w.w.i. and it was disabled. she has always enjoyed creating original stories and narratives and would tell herself bedtime stories at age six to help her fall asleep.

met ross eugene woodiwiss, a second lieutenant in the us. uu. air force when he was sixteen at a dance. they fell in love and married the following year. While she was living with him in a military post located in Japan, Kathleen was able to write her first book and did it by hand.
She settled with her husband in Minnesota. During that time, Kathleen tried to write a novel but failed. she finally got started when she finally got an electric typewriter after she couldn’t write anything by hand. Her manuscript was 600 pages long, and while initially rejected by hardcover publishers, they ended up finding a home in paperback.

Her novels have had several explicit scenes including sex scenes and monogamous relationships that take place in historical settings, of course. Ella Ella’s career began when she officially became a published author in 1972 with the release of Ella’s debut novel La Llama y la Flor. the book was the first in the saga of the birmingham family
the birmingham family saga series presents the sequel the kiss, beyond the kiss and a season beyond the kiss. the last in the series was published after his death in 2007 and was titled Eternal. this popular fictional series was considered by many to be the invention of the modern historical romance book.
Flower became an instant New York Times bestseller and with its success created a literary precedent that led major publications to publish more books featuring strong female heroines as well as hot sex scenes. publishers would write romance novels focusing on historical fiction and the monogamous relationships between helpless heroines and the male hero who rescued her and had longer plots, more controversial characters, and sex scenes that were intimate and gripping.
This novel was rejected by hardcover publishers who thought it was too long. woodiwiss disagreed, instead sending it to paperback publishers who could handle the many pages (over 600). Avon bought the novel and later gave it a print run of half a million copies. It was a hot run as the novel would sell over 2.3 million copies during its first four years of publication.
kathleen woodiwiss is an avid equestrian. She loves horseback riding and at one point she lived in a large Minnesota house set on 55 acres. when her husband passed away in 1996, she kathleen decided to move back to louisiana. She however, passed away years later in Princeton, Minnesota at a hospital. Ella Kathleen passed away on July 6, 2007 at the age of 68 from cancer. she had three children, one who predeceased her and hers two living children of hers, sean and heath, both married. woodiwiss also has several grandchildren.
