kristi ann hunter is an award-winning christian fiction author who writes regency novels. Kristi is known for her successful “Hawthorne House” and “Haven Manor” series of novels. In addition to writing, she is also a teacher and speaker on spiritual and biblical topics. In this regard, she has spoken to many groups of young women in churches, schools, and writers’ groups. she went to georgia tech from where she graduated with a degree in computer science and sometimes you can find her playing with computers. Kristi wanted to be an author from a young age as she was an avid reader and lover of storytelling. Despite her career in computer science, she always knew she was born to write and as soon as she published “A Lady of Esteem” there was no turning back. For her fiction, she has won several awards including the ACFW Genesis Competition, the Georgia Romance Writers Award of Excellence, and a Heart of Gold Award from the Romance Writers of America. She runs the Regency Reflections blog that she co-founded and is also active with American Christian Fiction Writers, Georgia Romance Writers, and the Beau Monde Regency Chapter of America’s Romance Writers. When not writing, Kristi loves spending time at church, with the family playing cards, strategy, and board games, binge-watching cheesy rom-coms, fantasy, and teen movies, drinking chocolate, and listening to music. she currently lives with her husband and her children in georgia.
kristi hunter knew very early that she wanted to be an author. When she was in elementary school, her school invited a well-known author to give a talk to the children. The author said that one of her school books was something she started writing as an English class project. When she was a child, Kristi thought that if the author wrote her book while she was in fourth grade, why shouldn’t she? however, it wasn’t until she was in college that she finally started thinking about writing her novel. During this time, she was reading a lot of fiction but she hadn’t decided which direction to take when it came to writing. One of her best friends who read a lot of Christian fiction recommended Kate Witemeyer’s novel “To Win Her Heart” and she was hooked. What made her recommendation so intriguing was that her friend was not a Christian, she had no religious affiliation and did not attend church, but she had read the novel three times. amazed by the wonderful and relatable characters kristi knew she had found her gender. It wasn’t long before she wrote the series prequel “A Lady of Esteem” to “Hawthorne House”.

kristi was inspired to write the debut novel in the hawthorne series “a noble masquerade” as she believes everyone has restrictions and masks they wear depending on who they interact with. Sometimes people find that the limits they place on themselves become restrictive and abrasive prisons, even when they are self-created. this is very evident when one finds oneself in a new group of people and struggles to find what role to play or how to present oneself. it is through “a noble masquerade” that it explores these ideas through the heroine who meets the hero in two dissimilar circumstances. both present dissimilar versions of themselves, which generates quite interesting situations. It is from the different experiences that they come to understand each other and Kristi believes that this is something that is beneficial in all human relationships.
“A Noble Masquerade” by Kristi Ann Hunter features Lady Miranda Hawthorne, who knows what it’s like to be a lady, but deep down all she wants is to be bold and carefree. she is in the fourth season of her and in the society in which she lives she is about to become a spinster. she has heard the whispers, but she keeps her head up in public only by trusting and opening her heart to her brother’s old school friend in letters she never sends. she had only heard of the duke from her brother, but she had never met him. Meanwhile, she finds her brother’s new valet, Marlow, quite intriguing, but falling in love with a lowly servant is too much of a rebellion for even she to contemplate. but the valet comes across one of her letters and sends it to the intended but unwitting confidant. Miranda is mortified when she finds out about it, but the Duke is very interested in her and begins a courtship by mail. With so few suitors in her life thus far, she is confused by her feelings for the two men, one whose words resonate deeply with her and one she has never met. who will she choose?
