This book titled Head to Head described Claire Morgan’s quest to solve a murder mystery. she was a homicide detective from los angeles but she moved to the lake of the ozarks. she faces murder at a resort owned by doctor nicholas black where one of her clients is found dead glued to a chair submerged in the lake. Claire is very attracted to this doctor and most of the time she keeps him company and believes that he can help her solve the mystery. she has to read the minds of humans as she progresses in the investigation, but she is still not sure if this charismatic doctor is helping her solve the incident. the book expresses that ladies can also be tough like men and overcome the difficult situations they face. Claire’s previous encounters in Los Angeles don’t lower her esteem, but instead make her a smart and strong detective. As the reader progresses through the book, added fun comes from the surprises one finds and the lavish suspense strategically placed throughout this book. most readers agree that this book is quite convincing, that one has to stop all other activities and even postpone sleep as the suspense is quite well thought out. Overall, Ladd comes off as a smart, forward-thinking thriller in this book.

book two this book advances claire’s expression as a tough cop. dark places is an exciting book where claire is from her last mission, but at least her wounds are healed. in this book she faces a more serious murder that becomes quite difficult to solve due to the harsh conditions of the place where the death occurs. In this book, Linda creates a lot of suspense not only by depicting the cruel murder, but also by the risky encounters she faces as she gets closer to the truth. Professor Simon Classon is found bleeding from the head and suspended from a tree across from his campus. he was poisoned therefore he was facing a slow death which is why someone was after giving him such a painful death. Claire sets out to investigate this murder, though it tends to get much more difficult compared to the previous investigation. Being winter, snow covers most places and low temperatures make research seem impossible. While she almost finds out the truth, she faces threats and has to come out of this investigation very hard.
linda ladd comes across as a unique thriller with her endless surprises and exciting encounters well described in her series. With these features, she has gained many readers and she is an author to watch as she will never give up creative writing from her.
